Dreame H12 Dual Flexreach Review: The Convertible Vacuum That Mops, Sweeps and Crawls Under Your Bed

Cleaning in an Indian home is still mostly a two step ritual. Jhadu first, then pocha, usually twice a day, usually done by someone else. So when a company asks for Rs 44,999 for a machine that promises to replace both steps, the question is not whether the technology is clever. The question is whether it fits into a house that already has a working system.

The Dreame H12 Dual FlexReach landed in India on 01 September at Rs 44,999, first on Dreame's own website, then Amazon, and later at Croma and select stores. Dreame calls it a 6-in-1 machine, and the number counts surfaces, not motors. What you actually get is one wet and dry floor washer that folds completely flat, plus a separate dry vacuum module that shares the same handle, motor and battery.

I have used it for 15 days in my Noida flat, across vitrified tiles, a bedroom and a kitchen that generates the kind of mess no product video wants to show. Here is what held up and what did not.

Gizbot Rating

The Dreame H12 Dual FlexReach combines a wet-dry floor washer with a handheld vacuum in one convertible machine. We test its cleaning performance, 35-minute Smart mode runtime, lie-flat design, self-cleaning system and 5.4kg weight to see whether it justifies its ₹44,999 price in Indian homes.

Pros

  • Converts into handheld vacuum

  • Super efficient at cleaning

  • Starts in 10 seconds

  • Glides easily across floors

  • Lies flat under furniture

  • No hair tangling at all

Cons

  • Heavy for long sessions

  • Motor swap needs care

  • No flexible tube attachment

  • Only one year warranty

Dreame H12 Dual Flexreach Review: Two-Minute Review

The best thing about this machine is that you stop planning around it. Pick it up, press one button and it is already cleaning. No bucket, no cords, no setting up. That sounds like a small thing until you realise how often you use a machine that takes 10 seconds to start versus one that takes five minutes.

The cleaning itself is efficient in a way my old stick vacuum never managed. One pass in Smart mode handled fresh spills on tiles. It glides on the floor, almost pulling itself forward, so steering it around chair legs and door frames only needs a light twist of wrist.

The convertible design is the reason to pick this over a plain floor washer. The motor and battery handle comes off the floor unit and goes onto a dry vacuum module, which turns the same machine into a handheld for sofas, car seats and cobwebs.

With all that capabilities, it is heavy. 5.4kg does not sound like much until you are holding the handheld up at ceiling height. If someone older in the house is going to use it for a long stretch, the vacuuming might tire them out. Not the mopping because you don't have to carry it and the weight rests on the floor.

The swapping system is smart but demands care. You are moving a motor unit and a battery between two bodies every time you switch jobs. The motor in particular is not something you want to drop or push into place roughly.

And for Rs 44,999 the box feels light on attachments. There is no flexible tube type attachment, which is exactly what you need for gaps behind the fridge, between sofa cushions and inside car footwells. At this price that should not be an optional extra.

The folding action is the headline and it earns the attention. The handle goes down 180 degrees and the body slides into a gap of about 14cm, with the brush head needing around 9.6cm. My bed and the TV console both cleared it. For the first time in years I saw what was living under there, and I would rather not describe it.

On the floor, the weight is not a problem. The roller does most of the pulling and you are mostly steering, so moving around chairs and corners feels light. Navigation is one of the genuine strengths here.

Lift it off the floor and the picture changes. For example, 5.4kg held overhead for cobwebs is real work. After about five minutes my forearm was done. If your parents are going to use this, or if you plan long sessions covering a big home, factor that in honestly. This is not a machine you hand to someone with a weak grip and walk away.

The swapping system is clever - one motor, one battery, two bodies. In practice it asks for attention every single time. The motor unit slots in with a bit of force and I found myself slowing down to get it seated properly, because this is the single most expensive part of the machine. The dry module also leans slightly when docked, which does not affect function but does not inspire confidence either.

Assembly on day one took longer than it should have. I ended up on Dreame's own video to get the dock and accessory mount right. I really like the charging stand design and attachment storage as it neatly keeps the whole setup in one place.

Dreame H12 Dual Flexreach Review: Performance

Rating: 4.25 / 5

Dreame claims 23,000Pa of suction. I have no lab, so I tested it the way anyone at home would. Coffee spilled on tiles, dried chai rings, atta on the kitchen floor and the grey film that Delhi air leaves on everything by Wednesday.

On tiles, a single pass in Smart mode cleared fresh spills. Dried marks needed either a second pass or a short burst of Turbo, which is fair enough. The wooden bedroom floor felt dry to touch in about a minute with no streaking once it settled.

Hair was the pleasant surprise. In 15 days I did not cut hair off the roller even once. The brush has a scraper that keeps it clear, and this one detail is why I kept reaching for the machine instead of avoiding it.

Edge cleaning is good without being perfect. It gets much closer to a skirting board than any round robot will, but the point where two walls meet still needs a cloth.
Two limits worth stating. This is a hard floor machine, so carpet cleaning is not its job, but change the attachment and it can handle that too. And Indian kitchen mess is not the spaghetti and coffee beans from the marketing. Wet atta it handled. Oil splatter near the stove needed the cleaning solution and a repeat pass.

Dreame H12 Dual Flexreach Review: Battery Life

Rating: 3.5 / 5

The 4,000mAh battery is removable and rated for up to 60 minutes of dry vacuuming and up to 50 minutes of washing. That 50 minute figure belongs to Quiet mode.

In Smart mode, which is what you will actually use since it adjusts to how dirty the floor is, the working number lands around 35 minutes. That covered my flat with a little left over. A home above 2,000 sq ft might need two sittings. Recharging takes about four hours..

The removable battery is good thinking for the long run, with one catch. I could not find a spare battery sold anywhere in India, and no price exists for one. If it fails in year three, you are dependent on service centre stock.

Dreame H12 Dual Flexreach Review: Comfort and Fit

Dock it, press the button and it washes its own roller with 90 degree hot water, then runs a hot air drying cycle. Dreame advertises a five minute sealed drying mode, and that is genuinely faster than older machines that took half an hour.

The part nobody advertises is what happens when you get lazy. I left the dirty tank unemptied overnight once and the next run carried a faint musty smell on the exhaust. Owners of Dreame's other FlexReach models have reported the same thing. Empty the dirty tank every single time, it takes half a minute.

Consumables are a running cost people forget. Dreame suggests replacing the roller brush and filter every three to six months. One spare of each is in the box, so the first few months are sorted. After that, Dreame India's accessory listings showed only the multi-surface floor cleaner, with nothing listed for this specific model. Third party rollers made for the older H12 do not fit the FlexReach head.

Dreame H12 Dual Flexreach Review: Ease of Setup

Rating: 3.25 / 5

This is my only major complaint. The box has the multi-surface brush, a motorised mini brush, a flexible combination tool with an extension rod, the charging base, cleaning solution, a spare filter and a spare roller.

What is missing is a proper flexible tube type attachment. That is the one you need for the gap behind the fridge, between sofa cushions, along the car footwell and under the washing machine. At Rs 44,999, with the machine being sold on the promise of cleaning six different surfaces, keeping that attachment could have been a decision that would have made the deal sweeter.

The dry module also has no app, no Wi-Fi and no Dreamehome support. The display tells you the mode and how dirty the water is, and auto dirt detection raises power when it finds something bad, which saves battery.

Noise sits around 70 to 75 decibels in normal use.

Dreame H12 Dual Flexreach Review: Value for Money

Rating: 3.5 / 5

At Rs 44,999 this is not competing on suction numbers. It is competing on being two machines that share one handle.

The obvious comparison in India is the Dyson WashG1 at Rs 64,900. That machine washes hard floors beautifully and has bigger tanks, roughly a litre of clean water against Dreame's 780ml, so you walk to the tap less often. It also carries a two year warranty that covers accidental damage, double what Dreame offers.

But here is the thing nobody tells you at the store. The WashG1 has no suction at all. It is a wet roller system, so dry dust, crumbs and the daily grit on an Indian floor still need a separate vacuum. Buy it and you are spending Rs 64,900 and still shopping for a second machine. The Dreame does both jobs for Rs 20,000 less.

Inside Dreame's own range the maths gets harder. The H12 Dual sells for around Rs 33,999 and handles most of the same work minus the lie flat body. If getting under the bed is not your daily problem, that Rs 11,000 gap is very difficult to justify.

Then the question everyone actually asks me. Robot or this? A Dreame L50 Ultra CE at Rs 64,999 mops your floor while you are at the office. This one does not. What it does instead is everything a robot cannot touch, which is the sofa, the car, the kitchen grease, the corners and under the bed. In most Indian homes where help already comes daily, this is a more efficient and superior cleaning supplement and not a replacement.

One more number for your budget. The warranty is one year and the extended plan costs Rs 6,990. With spares hard to source locally, that pushes your real cost past Rs 51,000.

Dreame H12 Dual Flexreach Review: Verdict

I like this machine more than I expected to. In 15 days it changed how often I clean, simply because picking it up is easier than filling a bucket, and because it starts working within seconds of coming off the dock. The convertible design is not a gimmick. It is the one reason to pick this over a single purpose floor washer that costs more and does less.

For me, I consider this as a help replacement and it's working fine. But that's also because I have a robot vacuum and mop as well. While that handles daily cleaning, this helps me go deeper into areas where that can't reach. That's close to Rs 75,000 in cost of machines, but I am saving the Rs 5,000 monthly (Rs 60,000 per year) cost that I used to pay for the help. Also consider them not being available 24x7, yearly increment, being available at home when they come and many other human-related factors.

Buy it if you have hard floors, low furniture, pets and no vacuum at home, and if whoever uses it is comfortable carrying 5.4kg around for half an hour.

Before paying, call Dreame support and ask one direct question. What does a spare battery and a FlexReach roller cost, and are they in stock right now? If the answer is vague, treat that as information. Also check whether a festive sale is close, because Dreame knocked around Rs 3,000 off the H12 Dual during last year's sale season.

Who should skip it

Anyone whose daily mopping is already handled by domestic help. If the goal is to cut daily labour, a robot vacuum mop in the Rs 45,000 to Rs 65,000 range does more. Skip it also if you already own a good stick vacuum, unless you need a manual controlled mop.

Who should buy this

Homes with mostly hard floors, low furniture, pets or lots of upholstery, where nobody already owns a decent vacuum, and where someone physically comfortable with a 5.4kg machine will be the one using it. If you've been looking to buy a Dyson, note that this Dreame product is a better value product at lesser price, more features and same quality build.
