Logi Dock Review: A Docking Station that can do it All
Logitech's docking station is an all-in-one conferencing device that is designed to help you create a clutter-free workstation. The Logi Dock boasts a ton of ports and can be used to power up a laptop.
Moreover, the Logi Dock can also act as a speaker for entertainment. But with a staggering price tag of Rs 55,000 (not including taxes), should you consider investing in the Logi Dock for your professional setup?

Design
When it comes to all-in-one docking stations, the Logi Dock is easily one of the best-looking ones we've seen so far. The Logic Dock comes in graphite or white colour options, our model came in the latter. The docking station has rubberized feet on the bottom to provide grip.

Additionally, the dock has lights on the bottom that turn on when you receive a call. The Logi Dock weighs little under a kilo and measures 131.5mm thick, 160mm wide, and 84.8mm high. At first glance, the Logi Dock looks more like a premium portable speaker.
The dock is primarily made of textured plastic and is surrounded by fabric on all three sides with the 'Logi' branding on the front. The docking station is angled upwards to better direct its audio. Overall, the Logi Dock feels like a premium built product and is well designed to make it subtly fit into your professional setup.
Connectivity
In terms of connectivity, the Logi Dock has most of its ports located on the back. The dock has two USB Type-A 3.1 Gen 1 ports, two USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 ports, a power delivery port, a Kensington lock slot, a USB Type-C port for the primary connection, an HDMI 2.0 port, and a DisplayPort 1.4. Moreover, the dock also has a Bluetooth button on the back. Additionally, there's one more USB Type-C port on the side of the dock.

There are five more touch-sensitive buttons on the front of the Logitech's Dock, and they include a mic button, two volume buttons, and another button to disable a connected webcam. Lastly, the circular button on the middle can be used to answer or reject calls. Wireless connectivity on the device includes Bluetooth 5.1.
Features
Apart from peripherals and accessories, you can also connect two 4K monitors with a 60Hz refresh rate and HDR support to the Logi Dock. Moreover, the dock can also supply 100W of power to juice up laptops that require up to 85W of power.
While that isn't enough for gaming laptops, it is more than sufficient for consumer notebooks, while the USB Type-C port on the side can be used to charge your smartphone.

Logitech's docking station also works seamlessly with video conferencing platforms and is certified for use with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and Google Voice. It is also compatible with most common calling systems.
Performance
Logitech's docking station reproduces enough sound to easily fill a conference room. I couldn't test the Logi Dock in an actual conference room, but I was able to use it for music in a mid-size hall with around 10 people. And despite being engaged in conversations, the volume output was more than sufficient.
The dock has 55mm neodymium audio drivers in an anti-vibration acoustic enclosure, which elevates the bass on the speaker. However, the LogiTune app can be used to manually adjust the sound to your liking or just select a sound preset based on your requirement.

At high volumes, the thumping bass makes the Logi Dock a pretty formidable speaker for entertainment. I didn't really experience any audio distortion at higher volumes and the dock offered a wide soundstage with good depth, given its size and primary functionality.
While the Logi Dock's audio quality makes it excellent for watching movies or listening to music, its primary functionality is for calling. And this is where the Dock shines brightest! The Logi Dock has an impressive six built-in noise-cancelling, beamforming mics that were able to pick up my voice clearly despite being positioned at the back of my desk.
This makes the dock highly convenient for conference calls as it will allow all individuals sitting on a table to contribute to a discussion without the need to reposition the dock. Additionally, the Logi Dock can also suppress background noise and does a great job isolating your voice.

My voice over the call passed through rather clearly, despite banging away on my mechanical keyboard and leaving a window opened and the fan on. The Logi Dock's impressive audio quality ensures voices pass through crystal clear without sounded muffled or distorted.
Software
The Logi Dock can be paired to your PC, laptop, or smartphone via Bluetooth. However, it is recommended to use the dock station with the companion Logi Tun app that can be downloaded on Windows 10 and macOS 11 or later as well as on Chromebooks and Android or iOS devices.

You can also sync your calendar to the docking station via the Logi Tune app to get meeting reminders and alerts for upcoming engagements. The app's equalizer can be used to adjust the sound manually or to switch between the different preset modes, which include Default, Podcast, and Bass Boost.
The app is also useful for getting the latest firmware updates, testing the sound quality, and adjusting mic volumes. The Logi Tune software is relatively easy to set up, although it does require administrator permission. You can also choose to deactivate high-speed USB-C pass through using the app.
Verdict
The Logi Dock is an excellent all-in-one docking station that doubles as a formidable entertainment companion. Given its hefty price tag, it is only viable if you are going to utilise all its functionality. With superb audio quality and support for external accessories and peripherals, the Logi Dock can be an integral part of your professional setup.

Additionally, the docking station also supports 100W of power delivery to replace a laptop charger. The Logi Dock can also be used to reduce desk clutter, while the software's reminder feature is quite convenient. However, the docking station isn't without its flaws as it lacks Thunderbolt support.
Moreover, other Bluetooth devices aren't compatible with the dock, while it also lacks a 3.5mm audio jack and an Ethernet port. If you are looking for an all-in-one conferencing device for a professional work setup that doubles as a multifunctional speaker for entertainment and music playback, then the Logi Dock is perfect, i.e., if you can overlook its exuberant price tag.
