As the smart watch concept and the fervor surrounding it, is the talk of the tech world, major tech titan Samsung seems to be prepping one. Though the South Korean tech giant has not acknowledged that it is working on such a project, the leaked screenshots created some hype on the topic.

Now, there is some value added to the Smart Watch rumor as a Samsung executive as confirmed the existence of the device.

According to a Bloomberg report, Lee Young, the Executive Vice President of Samsung's Mobile Business has stated in an interview that "We've been preparing the watch product for so long. We are working very hard to get ready for it. We are preparing products for the future, and the watch is definitely one of them."

Apart from confirming that Samsung is working on Smart Watch rumored to be named Galaxy Altius, Lee did not offer any comments about the same or hint its features either.

As mentioned above, in February, some screenshots alleged to be taken from Galaxy Altius smart watch were leaked online. The interface has a strong resemblance to Windows Phone tile layout and it was rumored that the device will run on an OS termed AltiusOS and to have a resolution of 500 x 500 pixels.

Whatever it may feature, it should be considered that the timing of the device is highly important. One reason for this is that Apple is also planning to launch its iWatch in the near future.

For now, it is a good news for Samsung fans as the company has acknowledged that a smart watch is in the pipeline.
