Samsung To Hold 'Health Related' Event on May 28

You may have seen Apple accusing Samsung of infringing its patent for slide-to-unlock. In fact, both parties have accused each other for infringing patents on their devices. Their messy patent dispute is the most discussed topic in the tech circles around the world.

Now, once again, both tech giants are set to strike each other in the health/fitness segment. Earlier in the day, Samsung had sent out invites for a health event in San Francisco on May 28.

The invite simply says, "A new conversation around health is about to begin". What do you think the invitation means? In other word, though the invite never mentions a product name directly, we know it's primarily related to health or fitness for that matter.

Samsung To Hold 'Health Related' Event on May 28

"Health" is the core message on the invite, and may mean that something related to a new hardware or health related software is on the way.

Samsung has already launched the updated Gear range of wearable devices, and each of them has a heart rate monitor.

So we can expect Samsung to introduce better health management software compatible with the Gear range of wearables.

While another side of the story suggests the event will used as a platform to introduce a new piece of hardware-may be a cheaper fitness band to take on Apple's iBand.

Apple To Introduce Health Book Software at WWDC

Of course at this point of time it would be rather to comment Samsung's mysterious device. However, Samsung health event lend weight to the rumor that Apple will unveil its Health Book app at its WWDC in June. Rumors have it that Apple will unveil health software to be compatible with a tracking device. That device could be much rumored iWatch or a device similar to the Nike Fuelband.
