One very interesting feature that is incorporated into the latest BlackBerry PlayBook operating system is its ability to support a BlackBerry smart phone as a remote control for the device. So what does that gives the users? If you have a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet and also happen to have a BlackBerry smart phone then you are in for some serious gaming fun. Because you can use the BlackBerry smart phone as a game controller for playing games on the tablet.
So gone are the days of having to buy an additional game controller for those hard-core gamers out there. So for all those BlackBerry enthusiasts who enjoy playing games in their tablets a large variety of options are open in front of them. This feature is found in BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0. This option was initially intended by the developers for using the BlackBerry phone for simple operations like changing slides in a slide show, or skip music tracks etc. But finally the developed code could do much more than that.
A demo of this system was showcased in the game developer’s conference. It showed a BlackBerry smart phone working just like a game controller for playing games in the tablet. If you have a high definition TV or monitor then you can hook up your tablet with it via HDMI cable to it and then you will be completely immersed in the game experience. However it will be a bit difficult to get used to playing games with the touch screen game controls.
Since there are no physical buttons it will be difficult to find out the buttons and more often you will have to look into the phones screen to find out the controls. Also there is a probability that you may not get as much dexterity while you use the controller as you may get from a normal game controller. So once you master the new controls then you can take your gaming skills to the next level.
Even if this is the first time such an application rolls out from BlackBerry some other manufactures like Apple have already travelled in this route. Some iPad applications already use iPhones for certain operations and as game controllers.
Even when a wireless controller is much better than this system it is very unlikely that you will carry it everywhere when you travel. So when you feel like enjoying some good gaming on the move then this is the very best option.
