Later this month, the world will witness the launch of two important video game consoles: the PS4 from Sony and Microsoft's Xbox One. The US launch of the PS4 is just one and half weeks away and there are five things about the console that you should know in case you're hoping to pick one up later in the year. Talking about the two consoles, Sony and Microsoft have been doing everything in their power to make sure that you pick up one of their products during this holiday season. There have been solid advertising campaigns for both consoles and fans should expect to see a bloody batle between the two companies during this holiday season.

Talking about launch dates, the Sony Play station 4 will have a head start against Microsoft's Xbox One by about a week since it is launching earlier. But given that the software giant has spent a ton of money on promoting its console, we expect it to sell very well. It is also worth noting that the Xbox 360, the older console, was the best selling video game console in the US for over a year until last month.

Here are five things that you need to know about the Play Station 4.

The console will be availabe in the US on 15th November, while it will be available in Europe on November 29. Expect the console to hit India later in the year during December.

The console will retail in the US for $400(About Rs.25,000). This happens to be cheaper than then competing Xbox One, which will go on sale during the following week for $499(about Rs.31,000).

23 different games will be available for the PlayStation 4 during the time of its launch according to Sony. Titles like Knack  and Killzone: Shadow Fall, will be exclusive to the platform, while other big cross-platform names like Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts and Need for Speed: Rivals will also be available.
