Popular game director and VP of Konami, Hideo Kojima showcased 11 minute game play footage for Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes at PAX convention held in Seattle, Washington. Curiosity was revolved around how the new game will perform with Kojima’s brand new Fox engine.
The demo commenced with a cinematic scene set up in a rainy prison camp. The scene reveals a man with a mutilated face, wearing a hat passing a tape recorder to a child prisoner. The man is found later heading his troops away from the base. In the next scene the notorious Naked Snake aka Big Boss is seen in action.
Kojima further explained the game play with Snake’s ability to command and pilot helicopters according to the preferences of the player. He said that helicopters could be used in between missions or for just exploring the world. Players will also be able to choose the music that is being played on the helicopter. The demo also showcased Snake using a flare to signal a nearby friendly helicopter to arrive at the spot. Players will be able to use flares at any part of the game. Kojima also mentioned that players can hijack vehicles; something which makes the game more interesting.
Kojima who is in charge of the game’s development added that the game is a prologue to the Metal Gear Solid 5 and not the exact next version of the game. The game is also expected to reap all the benefits of Fox engine. They have not disclosed any more details on this new game. You can watch the game teaser from below.
