Huawei Unveils Tron: Android Based Micro-Gaming Console with Tegra 4 Chip at CES 2014

China based smartphone manufacturer, Huawei has announced its latest and most surprising Android gaming console called the Tron at the CES 2014, Las Vegas.

Although there is a very less Android consoles so fat, the Tron micro-console comes with Nvidia's Tegra 4 graphics as also paired with a cylindrical-shaped hub with a Bluetooth controller. Sadly, the device is not meant to go out side China. However, the company representative reportedly said that the company is planning to expand towards other markets. In India the company could launch the device as Huawei has already released some of its latest handsets out here.

The Tron console runs on a half-skinned version of Android JellyBean (version 4.2.3) that presents a clean menu overlay with feature tiles for access to games, Huawei's store, video, application, settings and featured titles.

Going into the details of the latest Android mini gaming console, the Tron will come in 16GB/32GB internal storage. However, it can be expanded up to 64GB via a microSD slot at its base.

Talking about the connectivity options, the console comes with support for Ethernet, USB 3.0, audio out, WiFi a/b/g/n/ac and 2GB RAM as well.

The Black and White variant of the Tron console comes in glossy plastic body with a large power button that nearly occupies its entire top.

The Tron controller is similar to the Xbox 360's controller. Also there is a circular touchpad as well at the center of the controller. There are four actions buttons (X, Y, A, B), four shoulder triggers, as well as buttons for home, mute, view and menu. There's even a headphone jack.

The price of the Tron is not out as of now, but most reports are speculating a sub-$150 (approx. Rs. 9,288). Talking about the availability of the device, it should be out by the Q2 of this year.
