Microsoft Mimics Sony's Approach in India: Offers Xbox 360 Bundles and Titles at Special Prices

On May 21, Microsoft is set to announce the next-gen Xbox 360. The highly anticipated console is speculated to be as powerful as Sony's just announced PlayStation 4. While in India, Microsoft still has lot to prove as far console gaming is concerned. Sony still leads over Redmond-based tech giant - thanks to the PlayStation 3 home console, which now, starts at Rs. 17,000, in the Indian market. Last month, The Japanese giant announced PS3 titles under Rs.1000. Sony calls them ‘Essentials'. Now the same approach has been adopted by Xbox 360 makers to promote the console along with affordable titles.

"Whether a consumer is a first time buyer or an avid Xbox fan, Microsoft has great deals on offer. Players can now pick up an Xbox 360 with Kinect, take advantage of the freebies with it and start building the coolest gaming collection at never-seen-before prices. The hot summer months will go by unnoticed as the lively excitement of Xbox gaming will keep one totally engrossed," said Mr. Anshu Mor, Business Group Lead - Interactive Entertainment Business, Microsoft Corporation India Pvt. Ltd.

Microsoft Offering Xbox 360 Bundles and Titles at Special Prices

The consumer giant is offering special bundles starting as low as Rs. 24,990. For instance, the special 250GB Xbox 360 with Darksiders II FPP, Batman AC Token, Gears of War 3 Token, and Halo Reach Token costs Rs. 24,990 in the Indian market. The other bundle comes with a Kinect peripheral, 4GB Xbox 360 along with Kinect Disneyland DVD, Your Shape Fitness 2 DVD, and Kinect Adventures DVD costs consumer Rs. 26,990 in the market. The third bundle release by Microsoft comes with a Kinect peripheral, 250GB Xbox 360 console along with Kinect Sports 1 DVD, Kinect Adventures DVD, Dance Central 2 -Token, Minecraft Token cost you Rs. 34,990 in the market. These special bundles will be made available to consumers in the month of April, May and June.

The console maker is holding a special sale to grab some of the best games available on Xbox 360. Here is the list, as mentioned in the official press release issued by Microsoft: Alan Wake, Fable 3, GOW1, Halo ODST, Halo Wars and Mass Effect costs Rs.699 (per title) while Crackdown 2 and the GOW triple pack can be yours for Rs. 1199 ( per title).

If this is the end then think twice, as the Xbox maker has some limited titles too. Microsoft called them Favorite Titles'. Here is the list: Kinect Animals( Rs.999) , Dance Central Kinect Xbox ( Rs.1199) , Dance Central 2 Xbox( Rs.1499) , Kinect Sports Xbox(Rs.1499) , Kinect Sports Season 2 Xbox (Rs.1499), Halo Combat Evolved Aniv Xbox (Rs.1499), Star Wars Kinect Xbox 360(Rs.1499), Forza 4 Standard Version Xbox ( Rs.1999), Gow 3 Standard Etd Xbox ( Rs.1999).
