Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition and Age of Mythology: Retold Are Coming to PlayStation 5

Publisher Xbox Game Studios and the developers behind Age of Empires have announced exciting updates for their games, alongside celebrating 60 million players worldwide. The most notable news is the release of Age of Mythology: Retold and Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition on Sony's PlayStation 5. This follows other Microsoft titles, like Forza Horizon 5, expanding to new platforms.
Age of Mythology: Retold will debut on PlayStation 5 with the Immortal Pillars expansion on March 4.

This expansion introduces the Chinese pantheon, new maps, myth units, and additional gameplay features. Pre-orders are available now, and those with the Premium Edition will receive the expansion automatically at launch.

PlayStation Releases and Cross-Platform Features

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is set to arrive on PlayStation 5 later in the Spring. Both games will maintain content parity across all platforms and support cross-play. Currently, Age of Empires II is accessible via Microsoft Store (including Xbox Game Pass) and Steam.

Developers have also confirmed fresh content for Age of Empires IV this year. Two DLCs are planned for 2025, with the first titled "Knights of Cross and Rose" launching this Spring. Players can lead two historically inspired armies and enjoy a new solo experience. Details about the second DLC will be shared after the first one's release.

Mobile Updates and Special Events

February promises exciting updates for Age of Empires Mobile players. New features include a campaign called Battle of Dawn and an event named Stellar Glory. Valentine's Day brings exclusive cosmetics and three themed events centred around Princess Josephine's Treasure Hunt.
