Asus ROG Ally X Launch Date Confirmed: What to Expect? More RAM, Larger Battery, More!
Asus is gearing up to elevate the handheld gaming PC experience with the announcement of its ROG Ally X on June 2. This next iteration promises to cater more extensively to the needs of demanding users, offering enhancements that go beyond the current generation ROG Ally.
The device's unveiling was shared during the company's ROG Pulse stream, hosted by Jake Kulinski and Whitson Gordon, where significant details were disclosed to the eager audience.

Asus ROG Ally X: What's New!
The Asus ROG Ally X is positioned as an evolution rather than a revolution of the model. It retains the Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip and the 120Hz VRR display found in the standard ROG Ally 2023 (Review), ensuring continuity in performance and visual quality.
However, Asus is not holding back on upgrades. The most notable improvement is a significantly larger battery, promising to extend gaming sessions far beyond the current model's capacity. Though specifics were not disclosed, the ambition is to more than double the worst-case battery scenario of the Ally 2023, according to Asus Senior Vice President Shawn Yen.
Asus ROG Ally X: Enhancements and Upgrades
Additional changes announced include a boost in system memory from 16GB and an expansion of storage options. The switch from the M.2 2230 slot to the more common M.2 2280 slot is aimed at simplifying upgrades for users.
Connectivity also gets a boost, potentially moving from a single USB-C port to two, alongside a repositioned microSD slot to protect cards from exhaust heat damage. Improvements don't stop at hardware. The ROG Ally X is expected to feature interchangeable control joysticks and debut in an all-black color variant.
Its physical design remains largely unchanged, maintaining the recognizable aesthetic of the ROG Ally series. Software is also getting an upgrade. Asus plans to update its Armoury Crate SE software to version 1.5, enhancing usability and aesthetics. This upgrade will be available for the ROG Ally X and rolled out to the existing ROG Ally 2023 model, which Asus has committed to continue supporting.
Asus ROG Ally X: Launch Details and Pricing
The highly anticipated ROG Ally X will be launched on June 2, with expectations to be a highlight of Asus's Computex 2024 showcase in Taiwan. While it is confirmed that the pricing will be higher than the ROG Ally 2023, the company assures that the current model will remain available for sale, offering options to suit different user preferences and budgets.
The Asus ROG Ally price in India is set at Rs 49,990 for the standard AMD Z1 chip and Rs 54,990 for the Z1 Extreme chipset. The ROG Ally X not only promises to build on the strengths of its predecessor but also introduces enhancements that are poised to set new standards for handheld console gaming.
