ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X, ROG Xbox Ally Pricing and Pre-order Dates Tipped Ahead of Launch

Preorders for the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X and ROG Xbox Ally are set to commence in Europe on August 20, as per a recent report. The pricing details for these handheld gaming consoles have been revealed, aligning with earlier leaks.

The ROG Xbox Ally is expected to be priced at EUR 599 (approximately Rs. 60,400), while the Xbox Ally X will cost EUR 899 (around Rs. 90,700).

Specifications and Features

Both models boast a 7-inch LCD screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz and peak brightness of up to 500 nits. They are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and feature FreeSync Premium along with a DXC anti-reflection coating for enhanced visibility. The ROG Xbox Ally is powered by an AMD Ryzen Z2 chip, paired with 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB of storage.

The more advanced ROG Xbox Ally X model includes a Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, offering 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of storage. Connectivity options include support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 on both models. However, the standard model features two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, whereas the Ally X has one USB4 Type-C port alongside a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port.

The ROG Xbox Ally is equipped with a 60Wh battery, while the Ally X comes with an 80Wh battery. Both devices can be charged using a 65W charger stand. Additionally, they include a MicroSD card reader and a combo audio jack measuring 3.5mm.

The weight of the ROG Xbox Ally is approximately 670g, while the ROG Xbox Ally X weighs around 715g. These specifications ensure portability without compromising performance or features. ASUS has designed these handheld consoles to cater to gamers seeking high performance in portable devices.

Microsoft's Gamescom 2025 Showcase

Microsoft plans to showcase these consoles at Gamescom 2025, which starts at 3pm CEST (6:30pm IST) on August 20. Although no official announcement has been made by Microsoft or ASUS yet, it is anticipated that the consoles will be available for purchase in October.

During Gamescom, Microsoft will offer gamers the opportunity to try out a demo version of Hollow Knight: Silksong on the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X. Other titles mentioned by Microsoft that are already available on other platforms include Roblox, Sea of Thieves, and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3.

The collaboration between Microsoft and Taiwan-based electronics firm ASUS was highlighted during last month's Xbox Games Showcase when they unveiled these new gaming devices.
