Backbone One - PlayStation Edition Mobile Controller Is Now Available for Android Users
The Backbone One is a smartphone controller accessory that enhances gaming by providing an extended grip for phones. Initially released for iPhones, it is now also available for Android smartphones. In July of last year, Sony and Blackbone joined forces to introduce an iOS version of the controller that utilized a lightning port.
Backbone Controller Design and Functionality
The Backbone One - PlayStation Edition for Android is the result of a close collaboration between Backbone and the PlayStation team. The controller's design, including its colors, materials, and finishes, takes inspiration from the DualSense wireless controller. This ensures a consistent aesthetic that matches the sleek look of the PS5 console.

Consequently, users can utilize PlayStation glyphs instead of the traditional ABXY controls, although the joystick layout differs. The controller includes buttons for menus, screenshots, and launching the Backbone app.
Furthermore, users who own the Pulse 3D wireless headset can easily connect it directly to the Backbone One via its 3.5mm headphone jack.
Compatibility and Gaming Experience
The controller is compatible with native Android and iOS games, as well as PlayStation 4 and 5 games through Remote Play. The Backbone app consolidates all of this content into one place and provides additional benefits such as a 1-month Google Play Pass for Android or a 1-month Apple Arcade subscription for iPhone users, along with 3 months of Discord Nitro.
According to Backbone, the Backbone One works excellently with games from Google Play and the App Store, as well as other game streaming services that support controllers. It can be used with popular games like Call of Duty: Mobile, Fortnite, Diablo Immortal, and more.
Pricing and Availability
The price of the Backbone One - PlayStation Edition for Android is the same as the iPhone version, priced at $99.99.
Additionally, the Backbone One PlayStation Edition will soon be available in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, in addition to its existing availability in the US, Canada, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand.
