BGMI 4.6 Update Arrives September 16 With Midnight Hunters Mode and Vampire Takeover
KRAFTON India has confirmed that the BGMI 4.6 update will roll out on September 16, 2026, bringing a major seasonal shift to BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA. The headline addition is Midnight Hunters, a supernatural-themed mode that changes how Erangel looks, plays and pressures squads during a match.
The mode will remain live until November 16, 2026. It does not replace Erangel’s familiar layout, but it adds new combat spaces, enemy encounters and interactive systems across key locations. The update is aimed at players who want more than a visual refresh, as several new mechanics can affect rotations, looting and late-game strategy.

BGMI 4.6 Update Changes Erangel with Midnight Hunters
Midnight Hunters gives several Erangel points of interest a darker makeover. Rozhok, Mylta, Quarry and Gatka are now tied to a “Vampire Takeover” theme, with new visual treatment and mission-linked activity. Stalber and Sosnovka Military Base have also been redesigned as indoor combat arenas under the Nightkeeper’s Hunter Guild.
These guild areas include puzzles, lore elements and interactable objects placed around tables, bookshelves and murals. The update also adds hunter training shooting ranges and clock towers. Players can target these clock towers to stun nearby hostile creatures, which could offer a short tactical window during crowded fights.
Another risk-reward addition is the Scream Crate. These crates need to be decrypted before players can claim rewards. A failed attempt triggers a loud sound cue, alerting nearby enemies. That makes them valuable but dangerous, especially in contested zones where audio information can decide an encounter.
New Creatures, Boss Fights and Transformation Mechanics
The biggest gameplay change is an asymmetric transformation system. During a match, surviving players can cross sides and gain a new appearance, special abilities and a different playstyle. KRAFTON says this mechanic is designed to influence final-circle fights, where transformed players may approach engagements differently from standard squads.
Midnight Hunters also introduces new hostile entities across the map. Bloodwalkers chase players on foot, while Nightbats attack from the air using sonic waves. The Vampire Elder acts as a stronger boss enemy and can buff linked creatures across the battleground if players leave it undefeated for too long.
The Nightkeeper, an NPC found at the Hunter Guild, adds another layer to the mode. Players can use the character to access lore, collect upgrade materials and trigger an optional direct boss encounter. This gives squads a choice between safer rotations and higher-risk objectives with stronger rewards.
Ocean Odyssey Returns Later in September
The BGMI 4.6 update also brings back Ocean Odyssey on September 30, 2026. The underwater-themed mode will run alongside Midnight Hunters, giving players two limited-time experiences within the same update cycle. This should help keep the patch active beyond launch week.
New tactical items support the supernatural theme. Hunter Bandage offers fast health regeneration, while Silvermoon Chain works as an anti-creature weapon, mobility grapple and defensive shield. Twilight Bat Wings add aerial movement, allowing players to cover distance from above and approach fights from unusual angles.
The BGMI 4.6 update will be available to all players from September 16, 2026. KRAFTON India is expected to share full patch notes, trailers and additional feature details through BGMI’s official channels before release, giving players a clearer look at mode rules, rewards and balance changes.
