Control Resonant is Remedy's Fastest-Selling Game After Crossing 1 Million Sales
Remedy Entertainment's latest game, Control Resonant, has sold over 1 million copies worldwide within three weeks of its launch. The studio says it is the fastest-selling game in its 31-year history, marking a strong start for its first self-published release of this scale.
Control Resonant launched on September 24, 2026, and crossed the 1 million sales mark by October 15. The game arrived during a busy release period, competing for players' attention alongside other major titles.

Jean-Charles Gaudechon, CEO of Remedy Entertainment, said the game had made a strong start despite launching in a highly competitive market. He also thanked players and the development team for helping the game reach the milestone.
What Is Control Resonant About?
Control Resonant builds on the world introduced in the original Control, taking players to a version of Manhattan affected by a reality-warping supernatural crisis. This time, players take control of Dylan Faden, who must search for his missing sister, Jesse Faden, while dealing with dangerous enemies and strange forces.
Dylan can use supernatural abilities and a shapeshifting melee weapon called the Aberrant to fight enemies. The game expands the Control universe with a new protagonist and a setting where reality itself has become unstable.
Remedy Says Control Resonant Could Bring More Players to the Franchise
Remedy believes the latest game's launch could help the Control franchise reach a wider audience. Gaudechon said the studio had long believed the original Control deserved a bigger player base, and the new game's launch suggests it is attracting both existing fans and newcomers.
The company also sees an opportunity to build on its two established franchises, Control and Alan Wake. Remedy said it plans to continue supporting both series and expand their worlds in the future.
Control Resonant is available digitally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The game also supports GeForce NOW. Physical editions are available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, while a Mac version through Steam and the App Store is planned for later in 2026.
Remedy Entertainment developed and published the game, with Annapurna Pictures co-financing and co-producing it as part of a strategic partnership.
