NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Brings Dynamic Frame Generation And A New 6X Mode To RTX GPUs: Check Features and Games

NVIDIA is rolling out a new update to its DLSS tech, and this one is less about adding another toggle and more about reducing how often you need to touch settings in the first place.

NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Brings Dynamic Frame Generation And A New 6X Mode

With the latest NVIDIA app beta, users can now access the full set of DLSS 4.5 features. And the direction is pretty clear. Let the system handle performance decisions on the fly instead of locking things to one mode.

A More Flexible Way To Generate Frames

The biggest change here is something called Dynamic Multi Frame Generation.

Instead of picking a fixed multiplier and sticking with it, the system adjusts things in real time. If a scene needs more performance, it shifts up. If it needs stability or clarity, it dials things back. NVIDIA compares it to an automatic transmission, which honestly makes sense once you see what it’s trying to do.

You can still control it if you want. It can be set globally or tweaked per game through the NVIDIA app.

There’s Also A New 6X Mode

For RTX 50 series GPUs, NVIDIA is pushing things further with 6X Multi Frame Generation.

This basically increases the ceiling. The system can now generate up to five extra frames for every frame that’s rendered normally. NVIDIA says this can boost 4K frame rates in path-traced games by up to 35 percent compared to the earlier 4X mode.

At the same time, it’s still paired with NVIDIA Reflex to keep latency in check, so you’re not just getting more frames at the cost of responsiveness.

It’s Not Just About Performance

One thing that’s easy to miss is that DLSS 4.5 isn’t only focused on frame rates.

There’s a new frame generation model for RTX 40 and 50 series GPUs that improves how in-game UI elements look. Things like mini maps and overlays are handled better by using more data from the game engine.

It’s a small detail, but it matters when you’re actually playing.

Where This Shows Up In Games

NVIDIA also highlighted a couple of games alongside this update.

ARC Raiders has received its Flashpoint update with new content and improvements. With DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation, along with Super Resolution, performance can be pushed higher. Reflex helps keep things responsive, and RTXGI improves lighting. DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution can be enabled through the NVIDIA app.

Marvel Rivals is also getting updates with Season 7. A new character, White Fox, joins the roster, and a new map, Lower Manhattan, is part of the update. DLSS 4 can increase frame rates significantly here, and Reflex helps reduce latency. DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution can also be turned on through the app.
