Flappy Bird to Flip Its Wings After 10 Long Years, Coming to Android and iOS Devices Soon
Flappy Bird, a casual, arcade-styled game that took the internet by storm was taken down by its developer, despite generating 1000s of dollars in ad revenue as he believed the Flappy Bird was too addictive. The bird, after 10 long years is finally out of its digital cage, all set to flip its wings again, on both Android and iOS devices very soon.
On Thursday (September 13), FlappyBird.org revealed that the game would be returning to mobile phones soon.

"Hey all it's really me! Just a decade ago, I was the talk of the town and soaring to new heights with my 100 million friends," the official website mentions. "Sadly, I had to leave the fame and spotlight behind to go home and find out who I really am."
"Thanks to my super Flappy Bird fans, I'm refreshed, reinvigorated, and ready to soar again," it continues. "The decade-long mission involved acquiring legal rights and even working with my predecessor to uncage me and rehatch the official Flappy Bird game!"
The refreshed Flappy Bird will likely feature new game modes including an easier mode and a basketball mode. In addition, there will be new characters -- Trixie, Peng, Tekno, and Quirky. As of now, the official release date has not been announced. It is expected to go live this year.
Unlike the original Flappy Bird, which is still hosted on numerous third-party platforms, it was a 32-bit game, which isn't compatible with most phones of this decade, and the latest version will probably be a 64-bit game, which should work on any modern smartphones that run either Android or iOS platforms.
Do note that, despite the official version being taken from the Play Store and App Store, there are numerous copies of the same, so, in a way, people never stopped playing it.
