Kaiju No. 8 The Game Announced for PC and Mobile: Here’s a Look at the First Trailer

Kaiju No. 8's first game, Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME, has been unveiled in a new cinematic trailer by Akatsuki Games. Known for Tribe Nine and Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle, Akatsuki revealed the trailer via the game's official X account.

The trailer features protagonist Kafka Hibino in his kaiju form battling a fierce monster. Other characters like Kikoru Shinomiya, Soshiro Hoshina, Ichikawa Reno, and Mina Ashiro also appear.

The game, developed by Akatsuki Games, has Production I.G and Toho providing production and promotional support. Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME will be available on PC via Steam and mobile through the Apple Store and Play Store. The exact release date remains unannounced. The game trailer was revealed after Episode 10 aired on June 15, 2024. It had been teased earlier with a visual of a 3D Kafka in his kaiju form. Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME is one of several announcements for the series, including the manga spinoff Kaiju No. 8: Relax, becoming the first major anime to stream on X, and upcoming announcements from Crunchyroll.

Crunchyroll's vice president commented that Solo Leveling and Kaiju No. 8 are their hottest new franchises. Kaiju No. 8 follows recent Solo Leveling and Bleach video game announcements. Solo Leveling: Arise set new sales and player records for Netmarble. Bleach Brave Souls announced a new release date for Nintendo Switch and Xbox.

Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME joins the list of anime-inspired games. The upcoming One Piece Ambition received praise after its open beta test last month. Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME will be available on mobile and PC.

Kaiju No. 8 Season 1, Episode 11

Crunchyroll streams the anime series, which follows Kafka Hibino, who aspired to enlist in The Defense Force. He promises to join with childhood friend Mina Ashiro. Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa, whose determination reawakens Kafka's promise to join the Defense Force and protect humanity.

Kaiju No. 8 (2024) features Kafka Hibino merging with a kaiju and gaining powers, leading him to attempt his childhood dream of joining the Defense Force and taking on these powerful monsters.

Kaiju No. 8 Season 1, Episode 10 saw Kafka Hibino exposing his kaiju form to the defense force. However, audiences will have to wait for the next episode (Kaiju No. 8 Season 1 Episode 11) to find out what happens in the aftermath of the battle with the Red kaiju.

The next episode of Kaiju No. 8 will air on June 22 at 11:00 pm JST (Japanese Standard Time). The episode can be streamed on Crunchyroll or Amazon Prime Video.
