KRAFTON India Announces 2026 Esports Roadmap During BGMI International Cup
KRAFTON India has announced its 2026 Esports Roadmap during the BGMI International Cup 2025 in New Delhi. The plan includes expanded versions of its key esports events: BGIS, BMPS, BMSD, and BMIC. These events will take place in various cities.
India's esports scene has reached a crucial point. What started as small online contests has grown into large-scale events with global broadcasts and millions of fans supporting local teams. With government backing, corporate investments, and increased youth involvement, India is now an emerging force in esports.

Empowering Indian Gamers
Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of KRAFTON India, addressed fans at the event: "The 2026 Roadmap is more than a tournament calendar - it's a structured pathway for Indian gamers to rise from grassroots to the global podium. We have designed it with an intent to further the ecosystem: one that identifies emerging talent at the regional level, nurtures them through national competition, and gives them a chance to represent India internationally."
The roadmap also introduces the KRAFTON India Awards. This annual event aims to recognise and empower India's burgeoning gaming talent. The inaugural ceremony will be held in Mumbai on 9th January 2026.
Esports Events and Opportunities
The BGIS (BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA SERIES) serves as the entry point for aspiring players with open registrations starting at the end of December 2025. The tournament is expected to run from January to March 2026.
The BMPS (BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA PRO SERIES) is designed for top professional teams in India. This event will take place between May and June 2026, with the winner securing a spot at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh in July 2026.
BMSD (BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA SHOWDOWN) offers a high-stakes LAN competition where India's best compete for national supremacy. This tournament is tentatively scheduled from August to October 2026.
International Competition
The BMIC (BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA INTERNATIONAL CUP) is set as the grand international finale. Here, India will face off against Korea and Japan on home soil for global recognition. This international LAN event is planned for October 2026.
KRAFTON India's marquee tournaments in 2025 alone had a combined prize pool exceeding ₹4 Crore. This reflects the scale and professionalism driving India's competitive gaming landscape today.
KRAFTON India has been pivotal in this transformation by investing consistently and organising structured tournaments. Their player-focused initiatives have ushered in an era where Indian gamers can compete globally.
This announcement underscores KRAFTON India's commitment to being a leading force in elevating India's status in global esports by nurturing champions rather than just hosting competitions.
