Lenovo, a prominent technology company, and The Esports Club, a leading esports organization, have joined forces to conduct a comprehensive survey that provides unprecedented insights into the gaming habits of Indian gamers. This collaborative effort aims to shed light on the dynamic gaming landscape in India by combining the expertise of two industry giants.
The survey, which received over 18,000 responses from more than 70 cities across the country, reveals fascinating trends and preferences among Indian gamers.

Youthful Demographics and Educational Pursuits
The findings of the survey indicate a significant trend among young Indian gamers, with an astounding 89% of them being under the age of 24. This statistic is particularly noteworthy when compared to the global average age of gamers, which stands at 35.
Moreover, the majority (71%) of these gamers are currently pursuing their education. This reveals a growing interest in gaming among Indian students, highlighting the diverse backgrounds and aspirations within the Indian gaming community.

Furthermore, approximately 66% of the surveyed gamers receive occasional support or active encouragement from their parents, showcasing the shifting parental attitudes towards gaming and recognizing its positive impact on Indian households.

Gaming as the Preferred Form of Entertainment
The survey unveils gaming as the preferred form of entertainment among Indian gamers, with a staggering 60% of respondents engaging in casual gaming sessions with their friends. These gamers utilize esports platforms to connect and foster relationships, further solidifying gaming's role in social interactions.

Notably, 82% of gamers spend more than an hour per gaming session, with 88% playing daily or several times a week. This demonstrates the increasing popularity of gaming, surpassing traditional leisure activities in India and establishing it as a mainstream form of entertainment.
Gaming Preferences and Digital Presence
Insights into gaming preferences are a crucial aspect of the survey. Approximately 82% of the surveyed group actively participates in some form of esports and emphasizes the need for high-quality gaming devices to enhance their performance.
The availability of faster internet speeds and powerful high-end machines has made gaming from the comfort of their homes the preferred choice for almost all (94%) gamers. This highlights the demand for cutting-edge technology that delivers immersive gaming experiences.

Additionally, the survey reveals that a significant proportion of core Indian gamers come from affluent families, highlighting the growing market potential within this demographic.
Moreover, the findings emphasize the strong digital presence of Indian gamers, with nearly all (99%) actively engaging on Instagram, while over half (53%) of them use Snapchat. This underscores the substantial social media footprint of the Indian gaming community.
