Microsoft Game Pass Adds Over 50 Activision Games to Retro Classics Collection

Microsoft has introduced a "Retro Classics" collection for Game Pass subscribers. This collection, reminiscent of the Nintendo Switch Online classic games library, features over 50 Activision titles from the 1980s and 1990s, including Pitfall and Grand Prix. Although it doesn't match Antstream's 1,300 retro games, Game Pass subscribers won't incur additional costs.

The Retro Classics collection is accessible on Xbox consoles, PCs, or through Xbox cloud gaming on compatible devices like select LG and Samsung smart TVs and the Meta Quest headset. Microsoft emphasises that this initiative aligns with its dedication to game preservation and backward compatibility. The collection includes Cosmic Ark, MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat, and Atlantis.

Expanding Collection

Microsoft plans to expand the collection to feature over 100 games from Activision and Blizzard in the future. However, similar to Nintendo's retro offerings, these titles are exclusive to Microsoft's gaming subscription service and cannot be purchased individually.

Players can enjoy achievements and participate in events such as tournaments and community challenges. Screenshots suggest that the collection will include titles from platforms like the original PlayStation, SNES, MS-DOS, among others.

Antstream Arcade Offer

Antstream Arcade has announced a special offer for Game Pass subscribers. Until June 4th, members can access Antstream's extensive library of over 1,300 games for $9.99 through the Microsoft Store.
