More Assassin’s Creed Remakes In the Works? Here Is What Ubisoft Says

It has been a while since Ubisoft launched the remake of one of its most popular games of all time, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced showed us that people are still willing to revisit legendary franchises, especially when nostalgia is involved.

Now, ever since Resynced launched, fans have also been hoping for remakes of other hit games from the Assassin’s Creed franchise. But that may not happen anytime soon.

Ubisoft on Assassin’s Creed Remakes

Ubisoft, in a post on X, has confirmed that no other Assassin’s Creed remakes are actively in development at the moment. The company shared the update in its latest post about the franchise, where it also reflected on the development of Black Flag Resynced.

As Ubisoft’s first remake in the franchise, Resynced required the team to rebuild several parts of the original game. The company said the project involved rebuilding old systems from scratch, adding new elements that fit the experience, and finding a balance between the original game and new ideas.

Ubisoft described the process as a massive undertaking and said it was proud of what the team delivered and how well the game was received.

However, the company has also made it clear that the success of Black Flag Resynced does not mean that another remake is in the works. Ubisoft said its teams are already focused on the next chapter of Assassin’s Creed titles, including projects that players have not heard about yet. These upcoming games are expected to feature new settings and stories.

More Assassin’s Creed Remakes Could Still Happen

While Ubisoft is not working on any other remakes right now, it has not ruled out revisiting older games in the future.

The company said it understands why players want to return to classic Assassin’s Creed titles and that it will continue exploring opportunities to bring older games back. This means that while another remake is not currently in development, the possibility remains open.

Ubisoft also made a specific reference to the franchise’s famous line, “Nothing is true, everything is permitted”, while discussing the possibility of future remakes.
