Nintendo Sells 1.95 Million Units Of Switch Lite

Nintendo, the company which is known for making one of the most popular gaming consoles, has announced its second-quarter earnings. In the earnings report, the company claimed that it has achieved more than double profit what they have expected because of the strong demand of its Switch console. Here are the details:

The company announced that it has sold 4.98 million units if its portable gaming device-the Nintendo Switch in just six months. The company has also announced that it has sold 1.95 million units of Switch Lite devices in September which are handheld only. Just to recall, Nintendo launched the Switch Lite on September 20.

"We expect Switch Lite sales volume to reach 3 (million) full-year, so the 2Q sell-in total of 1.95 (million) was a surprise," CNBC quoted Morgan Stanley analysts.

According to Nintendo's report, games titles like Super Mario Maker 2, Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, and Fire Emblem: Three Houses have sold 9.35 million units altogether. Recently Nintendo has launched its latest title - Ring Fit Adventure for its hybrid-console.

In its July - September quarter the company has managed to earn a profit of Yen 66.8 million ($615 million). According to the reports the company made a profit of 30.9 Billion Yen last year and this time it is expected to reach 50 billion.

Ahead of the earnings report, the company's shares closed on 0.3 percent, and the stocks are raised by 32 percent this year, irrespective of growth being stopped in previous months.

Meanwhile, the company is also planning to launch a Nintendo-themed retail store in Tokyo's Shibuya district. Let's see what else the company is going to do to keep maintain the profit ratio and meet this year's target.
