Nintendo Switch 2 Announced at Direct 2025: Check Release Date, Features, New Games, More
Nintendo has unveiled the eagerly awaited the Switch 2, scheduled for release on June 5, 2025. This new console promises significant enhancements, including a larger display, improved controls, and enhanced audio capabilities. The Japanese gaming giant has also revealed an exciting lineup of exclusive games for the Switch 2. Pre-orders are anticipated to commence shortly.
The Nintendo Switch 2 will feature a 7.2-inch LCD screen with HDR support, offering a more compact design than its predecessor. It includes larger left and right sticks and introduces mouse-like functionality in select games. A new C-Button will allow instant voice chat during gameplay, similar to Discord.

Nintendo Switch 2: Enhanced Features
With built-in 3D sound and a microphone for voice chat, the console enhances multiplayer experiences. It offers increased storage capacity, two USB-C ports, and supports microSD Express cards. The dock enables gaming in 4K with HDR support and includes a cooling fan to maintain optimal performance.
The confirmed game lineup for the Nintendo Switch 2 includes both first-party and third-party titles. First-party games feature Super Mario Party Jamboree and enhanced editions of Zelda: Breath of the Wild & Tears of the Kingdom. Mario Kart World will launch exclusively on the Switch 2.

Third-party games confirmed for the console include Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, Hades 2, Street Fighter 6, Hogwarts Legacy, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Hitman World of Assassination, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, Project 007, and Yakuza Zero.
Nintendo has confirmed that Nintendo Switch Online will remain compatible with the new console. This service provides access to a library of classic titles, including GameCube games like Wind Waker.
Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date & Availability
The official pricing details for the Nintendo Switch 2 are yet to be disclosed but will be announced during the upcoming Nintendo Direct on April 17, 2025. Alongside the console's release, Nintendo is introducing a Switch 2 Pro Controller featuring an improved grip and enhanced haptic feedback.
