Nintendo Switch 2 Games for February 2026: Resident Evil Requiem, Mario Tennis, Virtual Boy, and More
February doesn’t usually scream “blockbuster month” for game releases, but Nintendo is clearly not following that rule this year.

Across Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Switch, the month brings a mix of familiar franchises, fresh reworks, and some darker, moodier titles than Nintendo fans are used to seeing back-to-back.
Dragon Quest Steps Back Into the Spotlight
DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined arrives on 5th February for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. This isn’t a simple visual touch-up. The game leans into diorama-style presentation, updates its battles, and tightens up the story flow.

At its core, it’s still about leaving behind a quiet island life and slowly uncovering a much bigger world by travelling into the past. That sense of discovery, mixed with emotional highs and lows, is what made the original memorable, and this version seems focused on preserving that feeling while smoothing out rough edges.
Mario Tennis Turns Up the Energy
Mario Tennis Fever launches on 12th February, and it’s exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2. As the name suggests, this one leans into chaos more than precision. New Fever Rackets add extra power and momentum swings, making matches feel faster and less predictable.
It’s the kind of game that’s easy to pick up for a few rounds but still competitive enough to keep multiplayer sessions lively, especially if you enjoy Nintendo’s more playful take on sports games.
Yakuza Comes to Switch 2 With Two Stories
Also landing on 12th February is Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties for Nintendo Switch 2. The collection follows two separate character paths, set across Okinawa and Tokyo, blending story-heavy moments with close-range brawling combat.

What’s worth noting here is the free demo. Nintendo is letting players sample both adventures before buying, which makes sense for a series that’s as much about tone and storytelling as it is about action.
Horror Takes Over Mid-To-Late February
On 14th February, REANIMAL launches in Australia for Nintendo Switch 2. Coming from the creators of Little Nightmares, the game focuses on atmosphere, puzzle-solving, and survival. You can play it solo or in co-op, but either way, the tone is bleak and tense as you try to escape a hostile island filled with threats.

Later in the month, horror fans get an unusually stacked release day.
Resident Evil Dominates the End of the Month
27th February is a big one for Resident Evil on Nintendo Switch 2.
Resident Evil Requiem introduces two intertwined storylines with very different play styles. One follows FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft in a more traditional survival horror setup, while the other puts players back in action-heavy territory with Leon S. Kennedy.

The same day also brings Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition to Switch 2. Together, they cover Ethan Winters’ full journey, from the Baker family incident to the events that unfold in Village.
Virtual Boy Games Make a Quiet Return
Rounding things out on 17th February is Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics, available on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. Titles like Galactic Pinball, Teleroboxer, and Mario’s Tennis return with stereoscopic 3D support.
Access does come with requirements, including specific accessories and a paid Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership, so this one will mainly appeal to retro fans who want to revisit a very specific part of Nintendo’s history.
