Gamescom 2025: DLSS 4 Expands to 175 Games Including Resident Evil Requiem and Borderlands 4

Gamescom isn’t just another gaming expo. With over 320,000 visitors in Cologne this year, it’s where the biggest names in gaming show what’s next.

For NVIDIA, that meant pushing AI deeper into almost every corner of its ecosystem—from DLSS 4 in over 175 games to Blackwell GPUs arriving on GeForce NOW.

A Wave of DLSS 4 Titles

NVIDIA confirmed that DLSS 4 isn’t just sticking to the big tentpoles. It’s spreading across genres and studios. Borderlands 4, Fate Trigger, and Hell Is Us will ship with DLSS baked in, while Resident Evil Requiem and Directive 8020 are going all-in with path tracing.

Other major games on the list include Phantom Blade Zero, PRAGMATA, CINDER CITY (the renamed Project LLL), Dying Light: The Beast, Lost Soul Aside, and The Outer Worlds 2, which launches October 29 with DLSS 4 and ray tracing support.

Even side content is getting the treatment. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants DLC adds RTX Hair on September 4, a tech showcase for strand-level detail that until now lived mostly in cinematic demos.

In short, if you’re playing a major PC release in the back half of 2025, chances are DLSS 4 is part of the equation.

The NVIDIA App Grows Up

For years, fiddling with PC settings has been part of the ritual. The new NVIDIA app update tries to cut down on the busywork. Global DLSS overrides mean you don’t have to tweak each game individually. The built-in Project G-Assist now runs leaner, using less memory while responding quicker. And for those who still like to fire up older games, long-requested 3D settings like anisotropic filtering are back in a simpler form.

Talking to Your Games

NVIDIA also showed off progress with ACE, its AI system for voice-driven characters. The idea isn’t to let AI write an infinite story—it’s to give scripted characters room to feel a bit more alive. In The Oversight Bureau, for example, you’ll talk to NPCs naturally, and the AI helps pick the right responses from pre-recorded dialogue. It runs locally on RTX PCs with almost no lag, which makes it feel less like an experiment and more like something you might actually use.

Old Games, New Tricks

One of the most interesting things NVIDIA is doing is with RTX Remix. Modders are taking classics like Knights of the Old Republic and Bioshock and giving them AI-powered facelifts. The new particle system launching in September adds another layer—suddenly old shooters and RPGs can have lighting, smoke, and explosions that look like they belong in 2025.

Bundles and Business

Of course, hardware launches still need the usual sweeteners. NVIDIA is bundling Borderlands 4 with its new RTX 50 Series GPUs through September. Nothing shocking there, but it underlines how central DLSS has become.
