PlayStation-Only Sony Store Opens in New Delhi, First in India
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has been selling gaming consoles via several online and offline modes, but sometimes customers had to only rely on online platforms for certain models. Sony has now reportedly teamed up with DT Zone and opened the official PlayStation only store in Delhi. This would be the first such store in the country.
Located in Punjabi Bagh, this comes as good news for gaming enthusiasts who can now shop all their favourites under one roof. Industry insider Rishi Alwani shared information about the store on Twitter. From what we know so far, it appears that Sony partnered with a third-party retailer in order to open this new shop.
Sony Opens PlayStation-Only Store in Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi
The new PlayStation-only store is going to be a one-stop solution, for all gaming needs. DT Zone is reportedly the official partner for Sony for opening this store. Alwani shared images of interiors of the store, which is functional in Punjabi Bagh at present.
The store will likely host PlayStations, Sony's Dual Sense gaming controllers, headsets and more. It may even be titles directly from the store, but there has been no official word on that from the brand yet.
Images shared by Alwani also show options of PlayStation Plus membership plans, which customers can purchase in order to get access to a large catalogue of games. Available for purchase online, these plans may also be available directly from the store now.
The PS Plus membership plans are available in three price brackets in India. The base one is priced at Rs 499 per month, while the PS Plus Extra plan starts from Rs 749 per month. The top of the ladder Deluxe plan is priced at Rs 849. All the plans have discounted annual plans too.
Gaming Enthusiasts Can Shop Consoles Offline
Earlier, the only way gamers could buy the PlayStation 5 (PS5) was through online marketplaces like Amazon, Flipkart, and some offline stores like Reliance Digital. Now, with the new store, customers can experience a hassle-free shopping experience offline through the official PlayStation-only store in Delhi. Sony had also recently reduced price of the PlayStation 5 by Rs 5000.
