PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for May 2026: EA Sports FC 26, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Nine Sols

Sony has officially revealed the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup for May, and this month feels far more varied than the usual “one big title and two filler games” formula people often complain about.

Starting May 5, all PlayStation Plus members can claim EA Sports FC 26, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and Nine Sols at no extra cost.

You’ve got a massive annual football title that usually dominates weekend gaming sessions, a dark Souls-like action RPG that looks brutal in all the right ways, and a critically praised indie action-platformer that many players may have skipped the first time around.

EA Sports FC 26 Is Easily The Biggest Name Here

Let’s start with the obvious headline grabber: EA Sports FC 26.

This is available on both PS5 and PS4, and for sports fans, this is probably the game they’ll spend the most time with in May.

EA says this year’s entry brings an overhauled gameplay system shaped by community feedback. That sounds like standard publisher messaging on paper, but there are a few actual changes worth noting.

Players can now switch between Authentic Gameplay and Competitive Gameplay presets depending on how they like to play. Authentic mode is designed to feel more realistic and slower-paced, while Competitive mode leans toward faster matches built for online play.

Ultimate Team also gets new tournaments, live events, and updates to both Rivals and Champs. If you’ve spent too many late nights building squads, you already know how addictive that mode can get.

The scale is massive as well. EA claims the game includes over 20,000 players, 750+ clubs and national teams, 120+ stadiums, and 35+ leagues.

PlayStation Plus members are also getting an extra bonus in the form of an EA Sports FC 26 PlayStation Plus Icons Pack, which can be redeemed while the game remains part of the monthly lineup.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Looks Like The Wild Card

Then there’s Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, which feels like the game many players may be curious about but haven’t fully explored yet.

This PS5-exclusive Soulslike RPG is set during the final years of China’s Ming Dynasty and follows a pirate warrior named Wuchang.

She wakes up with no memories and quickly finds herself trapped in a world that’s falling apart.

The bigger problem? A mysterious disease called Feathering is transforming people into terrifying monsters.

That setup already feels dark, but the combat system seems to be where the game really stands out.

Players can experiment with multiple fighting styles, unlock hidden weapons, use ancient firearms, and gain abilities by defeating enemies. There’s also an interesting mechanic where Wuchang can embrace the Feathering curse itself.

It feels like a mix of traditional Souls combat with its own unique identity, which is something this genre desperately needs.

Nine Sols Might Be The Hidden Gem

The third game, Nine Sols, may not have the same mainstream recognition as EA Sports FC 26, but it could end up being the surprise favorite for a lot of players.

Available on PS5 and PS4, this hand-drawn 2D action-platformer mixes exploration with precise combat.

Its biggest inspiration is clearly Sekiro, especially with its deflection-heavy combat system that rewards timing instead of button-mashing.

You play as a warrior seeking revenge against the nine rulers of a fallen civilization, and the game’s visual style immediately stands out.

It’s one of those titles people often hear good things about but keep pushing down their backlog. PS Plus might finally give them a reason to try it.

Don’t Miss April’s Games Before They Leave

PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for May 2026

Before the new lineup goes live, PlayStation Plus subscribers still have until May 4 to claim April’s games.

That includes:

  • Lords of the Fallen
  • Tomb Raider I-III Remastered
  • Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream

Once they’re gone, they’re gone, so it’s worth checking your library before next week.
