Sony Announces New Games Coming to PlayStation Plus Subscribers for Free

It is that time of the month again. Sony has yet again announced free games that will be up for grabs for all PlayStation Plus subscribers soon. Every month, the gaming giant announces titles coming for free for its paid subscribers and this time some very interesting names are in store.

This month's list includes Mafia: The Old Country, Horizon Forbidden West and Mycopunk, along with horror games such as Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 and The Midnight Walk. Premium subscribers will also get access to classic games, including Dino Crisis 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition.

Most of the new additions will be available from October 20, although some games have different release dates depending on the region. Sony has also announced Halloween-themed offers, discounts and new game trials for subscribers. Here's everything coming to PlayStation Plus this month.

PlayStation Plus October 2026 games: Full list

Mafia: The Old Country is, without a doubt, one of the biggest additions to the October lineup. Available on PS5, the game takes players to early 20th-century Sicily, where they follow Enzo Favara as he tries to survive the criminal underworld and prove his worth to the Mafia. The third-person action-adventure game focuses on a story-driven experience set in a dangerous era.

Horizon Forbidden West is also coming to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for PS5 and PS4. The game follows Aloy as she explores a post-apocalyptic world filled with dangerous machines, new tribes and hidden threats. Players can explore new locations, form alliances and uncover secrets from the past.

Another notable addition is Mycopunk, which will join the catalog on October 20 as a day-one release for PS5. The cooperative looter shooter puts players in a squad of robot outcasts fighting a planet-wide fungal threat. It supports up to four players in co-op and features customisable weapons and hundreds of upgrades.

Horror fans will also have Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 to look forward to. The game takes players deeper into the Playtime Co. toy factory, where they must solve puzzles and escape dangerous toys. It will be available on PS5 and PS4 from October 27 in the US, UK and Japan.

The Midnight Walk, meanwhile, is a dark fantasy adventure featuring a handcrafted clay art style and stop-motion animation. Players take on the role of the Burnt One and team up with a lantern creature named Potboy to survive a world filled with monsters. The game supports PS5 and PS VR2 and became available on October 14 in the US and UK, and October 15 in Japan.

The remaining Game Catalog additions include Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Edition and Monster Energy Supercross 25: The Official Video Game. The former combines a role-playing adventure with its Beyond the Dawn expansion and will be available on PS5 and PS4 from October 27 in the US, UK and Japan. The latter is a motorcycle racing game coming to PS5 on the same date in these regions, with updated tracks, a career mode and gameplay built using Unreal Engine 5.

PlayStation Plus Premium gets Dino Crisis 2 and more

PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will receive two additional games this month. Dino Crisis 2 will be available on PS5 and PS4, bringing back the survival action series with dinosaurs, a larger arsenal of weapons and environments such as jungles and caves.

And on the other hand there is RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition. The game lets players build their own amusement parks, design roller coasters, manage staff and finances, and complete career challenges. There is also a sandbox mode for players who want to build without worrying about money.

Premium members will also get new Game Trials for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Mortal Shell II from October 20. These join other available trials, including Valheim, The Sinking City 2, The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, John Carpenter's Toxic Commando and Directive 8020.
