Retrobit launching userfriendly Retroduo a portable game console
Retrobit made many heads turn during the Consumer electronics show when they came up with Retroduo handheld gaming console. What makes it stand apart from other gaming hand held is that this device can support the original Nintendo entertainment systems and Super Nintendo entertainment systems gaming cartridges.
Every one of us will be having nostalgic memories of those old games and many of us has dreamt of playing them once again. Retroduo makes this dream possible. So it is time for you to dust out those old game cartridges and get ready for some serious gaming.
From the styling of the device itself it is obvious that the device has some connection with the gaming segment of the 80’s and 90’s. The control buttons are big and round with bright red, yellow, blue and green colours.
A multifunctional directional key is placed in the left side. A colour LCD display is placed in the middle. The cartridge slot is at the top portion of the gaming console. The device comes as game ready right out of the box.
The curvy shape of the device resembles the original gaming remote and it ensures that the user can hold it properly while playing the game. If you want to enjoy multiplayer gaming an additional controller can also be added. The original Nintendo entertainment systems controllers can be eve used for playing games. Just that you need an adapter for this which is also provided by Retrobit.
The LCD screen has a size of 3.5 inches. It has good resolution and is sufficiently bright. The viewing angle is a bit poor though and appears bad when viewed from directly above. But you can always connect the device to a proper TV screen for playing the game.
For playing classic games like the 8 bit ones you will need to use the RetroPort adapter. This allows you to play the original Nintendo games of the 80’s.
If you want more options just buy the additional RetroGen adapter. It allows you to play original Sega Genesis cartridges. This means that this small and cute device is compatible with most of the versions of classic games. The battery life is claimed to be at 6-8 hours for standard batteries and up to 10.5 hours if the user uses the special extended capacity battery.
Retro Duo portable comes with a price tag of about Rs. 5,000/-. The RetroGen adapter and RetroPort adapters are available separately and will also be available soon in the market.
