Roblox Down: Players Report Widespread Login and Loading Issues

Players on Roblox ran into widespread access issues late Thursday night, with thousands unable to log in or load games. Reports of the outage began around 11:30 pm on December 18, according to outage tracker DownDetector, and quickly climbed as more users flagged problems.

At its peak, over 16,000 users reported issues. Nearly half of them said Roblox.com wouldn’t load at all, effectively locking them out of the platform during what is typically a busy late-night gaming window.

Error Code 9007 Disrupts Gameplay

For many users, the problem showed up as Error Code 9007, which prevented sessions from starting or caused players to get kicked out mid-game. Others reported frozen loading screens, repeated crashes, or being stuck in login loops.

Screenshots of error messages and stalled progress bars began circulating across social platforms within minutes. For players in the middle of long sessions or group games, the disruption brought things to an abrupt halt.

Social Media Fills With Complaints and Screenshots

As the outage stretched on, social media feeds were flooded with posts from frustrated players. Many complained about failed logins and constant disconnects, while others shared screenshots showing the same error code appearing again and again.

The volume of online reactions made it clear how central Roblox has become for daily gaming and social interaction, especially for younger users who treat the platform as more than just a place to play games.

A Platform With a Massive User Base

Roblox is one of the largest online gaming platforms globally, allowing users to create and play games built by other players. The company was founded in 2004 by David Baszucki and Erik Cassel and opened to the public in 2006.

Today, Roblox reports close to 83 million daily active users worldwide, which helps explain how quickly outage reports spiked and why the disruption was felt across multiple regions.

No Official Explanation Yet

At the time user reports peaked, Roblox Corporation had not issued an official explanation for the outage. There was also no confirmed timeline shared for when full service would be restored.
