Samsung Galaxy NX Android Mirrorless Camera Photos Leaked Online: Coming on June 20?


There have been long standing rumors that Samsung is working on a mirrorless camera that will run on Android operating system. Giving these rumors some leverage, Samsung CEO Shin Jong-kyun confirmed that the snapper is indeed coming to Korea Times.

"Samsung will release our latest mirrorless camera that runs on Google's Android software," he told reporters

From this point it was sure that South Korean tech giant would be brining the elusive device, but nobody ever said that the camera would actually be an interchangeable lens NX mirrorless camera. Yes, images of the alleged upcoming device have been leaked and this is no ordinary point and shoot camera.


The leaked photographs first posted by Vietnamese website tinhte, suggest that the new camera will come with a large display - expected to be 4.3-inchs and will be powered by Android Jelly Bean and TouchWiz - Samsung's very own user interface. The camera should be mostly a touch oriented device.

As for as the rumored specifications goes, the camera is expected to come packing Exynos 4 Quad-Core-Processor with 2 GB RAM, 8/16 GB built-in storage. It is said to come with a 20.3 MP APS-C sensor and is said to be capable of recording at 1080p Full HD. Reportedly, Samsung is prepping up unveil the Galaxy NX on June 20th, at a special launch event in London.

Samsung released its first Android Jelly Bean Camera Samsung GC-100 Galaxy Camera in India in 2012, at Rs 29,000. However this was just a point and shoot camera with pinch of some heavy features. The new camera should push the boundaries of a Android powered camera to a whole new level. What would be fun, is if it comes packing the camera features of the Galaxy S4 in the software end. Going by a guess, the answers to all will be revealed on June 20th.
