Sony PS3 system software gets new updates
The update is currently available in Sony PlayStations official site. So, users having a lower version than the 4.00 can do this update. This will provide the device with new security patches, settings as well as other features.
The main feature that comes with this update is the compatibility with PlayStation Vita system. What it means is that you can share files between your PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. That is music, images, games and videos can be shared in between these devices without much hassle. The data is PlayStation Vita can be backed up into PS3 hard disk also.
So if you have any saved games and other information in the Vita a copy can be made and stored in the PS3 hard disk for future use. Also if you want to update the system software of your PS Vita you can do that by making use of the network features on the PS3 system. To do the back up or update you need to connect PS3 and PS Vita via USB cable.
The other changes include the support for upscaler output and cinema conversion for Blu-Ray disc. The things that you want to update under the automatic updates option can now be selected. Two new system language supports have been added. They include Portuguese (Brazil) and English (United Kingdom). They can now be selected from system languages option under the system settings. New privacy settings have been added and they can now be accessed account information option under the account management.
The update can be done in many ways. One way is to use the system update option provided in your PS3 console. This would search the net automatically for new software updates and if found would download it and install them. The next method is by using a PC.
In this method the update file has to be downloaded to the PC. Then it can be transferred to PS3’s system hard disk and then the update can be done. The last method of doing the update is via optical disc. The update information available with certain game discs can be used to update the system software.
