Chirp! Twitter to Introduce Music App After Acquiring We Are Hunted
Twitter music, a new streaming service for music lovers is about to debut soon which can be a treat to major music services already penetrating in the industry like Pandora, Spotify and others. Rumored to be arriving this weekend, Twitter music service is reportedly said to offer playback of music clips from existing services.
The music application suggests artists and songs to its users, based on who they are following. Users will apparently be able to watch music videos from Vevo, which offers music videos from major music labels and listen to clips from SoundCloud, the audio sharing website.
The service is not really a big secret because the television and radio personality Ryan Seacrest tweeted saying "playing with @twitter's new music app (yes it's real!)". A The official Twitter Music account re-tweeted to the post, confirming that the service is coming.
Besides , Twitter has announced that it had acquired We Are Hunted, a startup music service that tracks the most popular songs across the Internet and social media. "While we are shutting down wearehunted.com, we will continue to create services that will delight you, as part of the Twitter team". Said We Are Hunted said, in a post.
The launch will likely happens to coincide with the kick-off the Coachella music festival, which is set happen over the weekend, in the middle of the California desert. The event will feature some of music industry's top acts. Are the two somehow connected? Twitter refuses to comment.
