Xbox 720: Microsoft to Announce PS4 Competitor On May 21

The future of Xbox will be re-written this coming May 2013. The makers behind hit Xbox 360 have finally announced that the next-gen console will "mark the beginning of a new generation of games, TV and entertainment." Microsoft, the console maker has finally, put juicy rumors aside. So, the successor to the mighty Xbox 360 will be unveiled on May 21 at 10am. The company also revealed that at E3 2013; better prepare to see few new titles.

Earlier this year, Sony took a bold step by announcing a successor to the PlayStation 3. The Sony PlayStation 4 boasts of mega powerful processor inside coupled with 8GB of RAM. However, Sony didn't show the actual console during the PS4 reveal. It is speculated that the Japanese giant is planning another explosive event next month.

The next-gen Xbox will have a custom designed hardware. It will be quite similar to the PlayStation 4 in terms of specifications. Add: 1.6-GHz CPU 64-bit, eight-core processor, 8GB of RAM, 1TB of hard drive space, and Wi-Fi. The system will be bundled with a Blu-Ray player as well.

If you are happy with the Xbox 360 controller then the bad news is that it won't work with the next-gen console. The new controller comes with a new identity. It could boast motion controllers.

The Kinect proved to be a big success, and the so-called Kinect 2 should be more integrated with the next-gen console. The original Kinect was optional, but this time around Microsoft will surely bundle Kinect 2 with every console you purchase.

The rumored Xbox 720 will have a set-up box built in the device itself. As the Redmond-based company is fascinated towards entertainment segment, so naturally, Xbox 720 will have the entire right ingredients to be called as super entertainment system.

There is a big confusion: whether the next-gen Xbox requires "always -online" internet connectivity. One has to wait a little longer or wait at last May 21st.

Another speculated rumor that could destroy your experience with the Xbox 720, and that certainly should be avoided by Microsoft. It is said that the next-gen console from Microsoft could block used games.

Microsoft could announce Xbox Surface, a 7-inch gaming tablet this year. As of now, it is unknown whether the mysterious device has some kind of usability attached to the Xbox 720. But it won't use Windows 8.

The next-gen Xbox 720 should be made available around Christmas 2013. The estimated cost of the console is pegged around Rs. 20,000 in the international market.
