CES 2025 | LG’s New Range of Evo OLED TVs Arrive with Advanced AI and Gaming Features
At CES in Las Vegas, LG unveiled its 2025 range of high-end "Evo" OLED TVs, including the M5 and G5 series. These models are equipped with LG's Alpha 11 Gen 2 processor, which enhances both picture and sound quality using advanced AI and machine learning. This processor excels at upscaling low-resolution images and offers professional-grade dynamic tone mapping for precise colour and HDR image adjustments.
The M5 and G5 series boast significant brightness enhancements due to the Brightness Booster Ultimate system. This system employs a 'four stack' OLED panel design, resulting in increased brightness and efficiency. The TVs can achieve peak brightness levels three times higher than LG's standard OLEDs, with an expected brightness of around 1900 nits on a 10% window. Despite the enhanced brightness, the OLED's deep blacks and colour accuracy remain intact, earning certifications for "Perfect Black," "Perfect Colour," and 100% colour fidelity from independent assessors.

Advanced Gaming Features
Gamers will appreciate the G5 series' support for 4K/165Hz variable refresh rate signals. Meanwhile, the M5 series can wirelessly transmit 4K/144Hz video along with Dolby Atmos audio. Both series are compatible with Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium VRR systems. They have also received ClearMR 10000 certification by VESA for motion clarity.
LG has integrated several AI features into the 2025 Evo TVs. These include AI Picture and Sound Wizard for tailored audio-visual settings, an AI Remote with a dedicated AI Button for personalised recommendations, and a new AI Search feature powered by a Large Language Model available in select regions.
Enhanced Smart Platform

The latest version of LG's webOS smart platform offers multi-platform integration through the Home Hub, allowing control over a broader range of IoT devices. Additionally, LG's webOS Re:New program guarantees software updates for up to five years. The M5 models are designed to be nearly wire-free, featuring an external box that transmits video and audio wirelessly to the screen.
The 83-inch G5 model was awarded a CES 2025 Best of Innovation accolade, while the 83M5 was recognised as an Honoree in the Video Display category. Although pricing details for these new Evo OLED TVs have not been disclosed yet, attendees at CES can preview them starting January 7.
