Exclusive: Daiwa to invest Rs 30 crores in TV manufacturing plant this year
The company has extended its portfolio with its 60 cm(24)” sized HD Ready TV - D26K10 that boasts loud sound swinging from bassy highs, low trebles, to an absolute amalgam of clarity.
Betting big on the growing demand for Smart TVs, Videotex's sub-brand Daiwa is now planning to invest Rs. 30 Crores this year in its manufacturing plant.
"We have invested Rs. 10 Crores so far and now we'll be investing Rs. 30 Crores in the manufacturing side," CEO of Daiwa TV, Arjuun Bajaj told GizBot in an exclusive interview. Adding further, he said, "Rs. 6 Crores will go into marketing the product this financial year."
Launched in 2016, Daiwa has sold 35000 units of the TV so far and by next financial year, the company is also planning to have it's our own store in Ludhiana. The company is currently going forward based on different zones starting with north and by next three months plans to cover South and West too. At present, the company has a manufacturing unit in Greater Noida, Ludhiana, and Himachal Pradesh, along with a dedicated research center in Shenzhen, China.
Related to the new Smart TVs that launched recently, Daiwa's top-man said, "We have three units but we are planning to launch one more by the end of this financial year."
Targeting tier II, III and IV cities, the new TV brand is getting more revenue only from South, West and North zones. However, when asked about entering into other products, air conditioners from Daiwa might see the light of the day next year.
