Amazon Launches New Fire TV Stick HD in India With New Design and Xbox Cloud Gaming Support: Check Price

Amazon has launched the new Fire TV Stick HD in India, bringing a refreshed design, faster performance, and support for newer connectivity standards like Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3.

Priced at ₹4,999, the streaming stick is now available through Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, and Zepto. Retail store availability is expected later.

The company says this is its slimmest Fire TV Stick so far and also claims it delivers over 30% faster performance compared to the previous generation.

Smaller Design With Faster Performance

The new Fire TV Stick HD comes with a more compact form factor that’s designed to sit discreetly behind a TV. Amazon says the device is around 30% slimmer than other Fire TV sticks in its lineup.

The streaming stick plugs directly into a TV’s HDMI port and supports Full HD streaming with HDR10+ support.

Amazon has also added Wi-Fi 6 support, which should help improve streaming stability, especially in homes with multiple connected devices or slower internet connections.

Another small but useful addition is Direct Power support. The Fire TV Stick HD can now draw power directly from compatible TV USB ports, reducing the need for a separate wall adapter in some setups.

New Fire TV Interface Included

Amazon is also shipping the device with its redesigned Fire TV experience.

The updated interface includes separate sections for movies, TV shows, live content, and free streaming options. The idea seems to be reducing the amount of scrolling and app-hopping users usually deal with while searching for content.

The stick supports apps like Prime Video, Netflix, JioHotstar, YouTube, Zee5, and more. Subscription charges still apply depending on the platform.

Xbox Cloud Gaming Support Comes to Fire TV HD

One of the more interesting additions is Xbox cloud gaming support.

For the first time on a Fire TV HD device, users can stream Xbox cloud-enabled games by pairing a compatible Bluetooth controller. An Xbox Game Pass subscription is required for this feature.

That essentially turns the streaming stick into a lightweight cloud gaming device without needing a console connected to the TV.

Alexa Remote and Smart Home Controls Included

The Fire TV Stick HD ships with the Alexa Voice Remote, which includes voice search and shortcut buttons for select apps.

Amazon also says users can control Alexa-compatible smart home products like lights, fans, ACs, and geysers through voice commands using the Fire TV interface.

Alongside the hardware launch, the company highlighted its redesigned Fire TV mobile app, which now lets users browse content, manage watchlists, and remotely start playback on connected TVs.
