Google To Roll Out Android 10 Update For TVs
Android 10 update got shipped in its stable form for smartphones in September. Some devices haven't yet received the update, causing Android fragmentation. While we are waiting to see what more devices will get the update, Google has finally announced that the latest update will also find its way to Android TVs.

The new OS for TVs carries slight changes, as it doesn't incorporate interface-level changes unlike the OS for handsets. While rest other features like the API level 29 along with key features and security updates remain the same as we have seen for smartphones running Android 10.
As expected, the update will keep Android TVs bug-free, hereby enhancing the performance of your TVs. Google is also keen on improving the OS update in the future as well, and so the brand has rolled up its sleeves for Project Treble which will keep introducing faster and latest updates to Android TVs.
For security purposes, the OS wraps up the latest TLS 1.3 which provides enhanced performance. At the same time, the OS brings in fixation for many security prone areas, ensuring no malware could breach the system.
However, Google hasn't yet confirmed the specific date on when the Android TV users will get the latest update. Besides, as Android doesn't support some of these TVs, users will have to wait for some time for the update to get shipped to devices like the Nvidia Shield TV. Once the update is done, users will hereby see the effective functioning of the Nexus Player on their TVs.
Along with the update for TVs, Google has unveiled its new ADT-3 dongle which will run on the latest OS. The dongle is powered up by a quad-core Cortex-A53 SoC, coupled with 2GB RAM and brings in a 4Kp60 HDR HDMI 2.1 output. As of now, the third-party devices will have to wait for using the dongle, as the developers need to check how it operates with the new update.
