JBL unveils water resistant Bluetooth speakers and Reflect in-ear sports headphones at CES 2018

At the CES 2018 tech show in Las Vegas, JBL announced three new models in its Bluetooth speaker lineup - JBL Xtreme 2, JBL Clip 3, and JBL GO 2. These are upgraded variants of the already existing models with improved sound and serious water resistance ability with the IPX7 certification letting these Bluetooth speakers survive in 3.3 feet of water for 30 minutes.

Of the trio, the JBL Xtreme 2 is the most exciting one. It is the biggest one among the three new models and features a carrying strap as it is inspired by the retro ghetto blasters. This speaker can last up to 15 hours on a single charge and has a USB port that can charge other gadgets. The JBL Xtreme 2 supports JBL Connect+ technology and lets multiple speakers play from the same source. There are large passive radiators at the sides of this speaker in order to deliver enhanced bass frequencies.

Next in the lineup is the JBL Clip 3 that is a compact one in terms of form factor. This speaker has a rubberized and rugged exterior and has an inbuilt carabiner that lets it hook up to the side of a backpack. The battery in this model can last up to 10 hours on a single charge.

JBL does not disappoint buyers who are tied to a budget. Well, the last model of Bluetooth speaker announced by the company is the JBL GO 2 that is available in 10 different color options. This one has a battery life of up to 5 hours of playback on a single charge.

JBL GO 2 is a super affordable Bluetooth speaker priced at just $40 (approx. Rs. 2,500). The JBL Clip 3 is priced at $60 (approx. Rs. 3,800) and the premium one - the JBL Xtreme 2 is priced at $300 (approx. Rs. 19,000).

Besides the upgraded Bluetooth speakers, JBL announced the launch of two Reflect in-ear sports headphones. These are the Reflect Mini 2 and Reflect Contour 2 priced at $100 (approx. Rs. 6,300).

The JBL Reflect Mini 2 is an in-ear wireless headphones that is lightweight while the Reflect Contour 2 is an in-ear wireless headphones with an over-the-ear hook. These new headphones are claimed to arrive this spring in the U.S. Both the in-ear wireless headphones are IPX5 certified making the sweatproof. There are reflective cables for the safety of the nighttime joggers. These headphones can render up to 10 hours of playback time at moderate volume levels and there is an inbuilt microphone for making calls.

The JBL Reflect Mini 2 will be available in Teal, Blue, Lime Green and Black while the JBL Contour 2 will be available in White, Blue, Lime Green, and Black.
