Kodak Expands Smart TV Lineup in India With Budget QLED Models Starting at ₹10,999

If you're in the market for a smaller TV for your bedroom or kitchen, your options usually limit you to basic budget models with average picture quality. Kodak TV India is trying to change that formula. The brand just expanded its Matrix series by launching a new lineup of compact, budget-friendly QLED smart TVs that run on the latest Google TV 5.0 operating system.

The new televisions are already live and available to buy online through Flipkart and Kodak's official retail site. They come in three specific compact sizes, which makes sense because 40-inch and 43-inch screens are currently some of the highest-selling formats in India.

Pricing is the main talking point here. The baseline 32-inch model starts at ₹10,999. If you want a bit more screen real estate, the 40-inch variant sits at ₹15,999, while the top-end 43-inch model will set you back ₹16,999.

The Hardware Under the Hood

Even at these lower price points, the hardware specifications are fairly decent. The entire range features a sleek, bezel-less design to fit into modern spaces. Because these are QLED panels instead of standard LCDs, you can expect better peak brightness, improved color accuracy, and wider viewing angles than standard entry-level sets.

For audio, Kodak packed in a 40W sound output system that supports Dolby Digital Plus and basic surround sound technology. That is a lot of audio power for smaller televisions, so you likely won't need to add an external soundbar just to hear dialogue clearly.

The processing is handled by an ARM Cortex A55 quad-core chip. For physical and wireless connections, you get dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and standard HDMI and USB ports.

Software and Performance

The big software upgrade here is the jump to Google TV 5.0. The user interface is content-first and quite snappy, giving you direct access to over 10,000 apps and games through the Google Play Store. All the heavy hitters like Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Apple TV, and JioHotstar are supported right out of the box.

You also get a voice-enabled remote control with built-in Google Assistant, allowing you to search for movies or control playback without typing. Chromecast integration is built-in too, meaning you can cast videos or photos directly from your smartphone to the TV screen with a single tap.

Super Plastronics Private Limited, the company that manufactures and licenses Kodak TVs in India, is handling the production. They are currently expanding their local manufacturing footprint with a new ₹2,300 crore facility in Hapur to keep up with domestic TV demands.
