New Redmi Fire TV Teased, Launch Set for March 14

Xiaomi took to Twitter to tease its latest smart TV from the Redmi sub-brand, the Redmi Fire TV. It will arrive in India as the company's first device with Fire OS since its other smart TVs run Android TV out of the box.

The Redmi Fire TV has also been listed on Amazon. According to the listing, the smart TV will launch in India on March 14. Here are the specs of the upcoming Redmi TV.

Redmi Fire TV: Features

The new 32-inch Redmi Fire TV flaunts a metallic bezel-less design. The device features Fire OS 7, which includes smart hub control. It comes with a remote that has a shortcut for Alexa and buttons for Netflix, Prime Video, and Amazon Music.

Connectivity options include support for Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, Miracast, and Airplay. The Fire TV will arrive in an eco-friendly package that reveals a "Mi Bunny" shelving unit.

The Redmi Fire TV will be available for purchase from Amazon and mi.com. The device will go on sale from March 14. We can expect more specs to be revealed as the launch date approaches.

Last year in May, Xiaomi's F2 Fire TV with Fire OS 7 debuted in the UK and other European markets. The F2 TV lineup includes 43-inch, 50-inch, and 55-inch models with a 4K display. The F2 Fire covers 90 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut and supports MEMC, HDR10, and HLG content.

The F2 Fire TV supports streaming services that include Netflix, Apple AirPlay, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+. The device has 12W dual speakers that support Dolby Audio, DTD Virtual:X audio, and DTS HD. Connectivity options include support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, and more.

It's unclear whether the Redmi Fire TV will launch in India as a rebranded Xiaomi F2 Fire TV. The F2 series starts at £339 (around ₹33,400) in the UK. We can expect the Redmi Fire TV to arrive in India at an affordable price range.
