Optoma UHR90DV Launched in India with Triple-Laser Home Theatre Projector with Dolby Vision And IMAX Enhanced
Optoma has introduced the UHR90DV, a flagship home theatre projector featuring a triple-laser RGB light engine. The device is the company's first projector to receive both Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhanced certifications. It also supports HDR10+ and Filmmaker Mode, technologies designed to preserve cinematic image quality during home playback.
According to Optoma, the UHR90DV is the first home projector to combine Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhanced support. These formats dynamically adjust brightness, contrast, and colour on a scene-by-scene basis to maintain visual accuracy. HDR10+ provides additional dynamic range optimisation, while Filmmaker Mode disables motion smoothing and other post-processing effects to present content closer to the director's intended look.

Triple-Laser RGB Engine and Installation Features
The UHR90DV uses a triple-laser RGB light source, employing independent red, green, and blue lasers. This configuration allows the projector to achieve up to 96 percent coverage of the BT.2020 colour space, which is commonly associated with professional cinema standards.
Optoma lists the projector with 5,000 ISO lumens brightness and a 4,500,000:1 contrast ratio, specifications intended to support clear image reproduction in a range of lighting conditions. The projector includes motorised zoom, focus, and lens shift functions to simplify installation. Lens memory allows users to store different aspect ratios and image positions for quick adjustments.
The lens shift range is rated at ±55 percent vertically and ±25 percent horizontally, enabling flexible placement in both living room and dedicated theatre setups. The motorised system allows users to refine alignment without repositioning the projector itself.
Optoma states that the projector's triple-laser light source is rated for up to 30,000 hours of operation. The UHR90DV chassis incorporates 50 percent post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials, while its packaging uses FSC-certified materials as part of the company's environmental initiatives.
Optoma also notes that it has maintained the largest share in the global 4K UHD home theatre projector market, reporting around 20 percent market share for six consecutive years. The UHR90DV is positioned as the company's most advanced home theatre projector to date, combining multiple cinema-grade display standards with a triple-laser projection system.
