Samsung Brings AI Search to Smart TVs With a Smarter Bixby Voice Assistant
Samsung has announced an update to its AI-powered Bixby feature on its 2025 TV lineup. This enhancement introduces a more sophisticated Bixby voice assistant, aiming to make information discovery more intuitive and seamless.
The updated Bixby offers a natural and personalised experience, allowing users to activate it by voice or by pressing the mic button, eliminating the need for commands or menus.

You Can Ask Your TV Anything
The new Bixby is designed to understand context and follow-up questions, facilitating interactions that resemble real conversations. Powered by Generative AI, Bixby can answer a wide range of queries, from general knowledge like "How tall is Mount Everest?" to recommendations such as "Please suggest chill playlists for a rainy day." It retrieves relevant details about on-screen content and displays them directly on the screen, enhancing the viewing experience without interruptions.
Smarter Bixby Enhances Click To Search
Bixby is now integrated into Click to Search, letting users instantly get info about actors, shows, or topics while watching TV. It also answers everyday questions like recipes or movie suggestions using external data, making search fast and effortless.
With the smarter Bixby, Samsung TVs can now detect, connect, and control SmartThings-enabled appliances. Users can simply speak to their TV to give voice commands like "Turn off the oven" or "Set the AC to 25 degrees," turning their TV into a central hub for managing other smart home appliances.
Availability
Smarter Bixby will be available on 2025 Samsung TVs, including Neo QLED, OLED, The Frame and QLED models in South Korea, with global availability to follow in phases.
The brand also confirms it will introduce a newly upgraded version of Vision AI in October 2025. This evolved Vision AI will be available through Samsung's 7-year free Tizen OS Upgrade program.
