Sony Playstation 5 To Be Available at Rs. 5000 Discount

In good news for gamers, Sony announced that it will be holding a Rs. 5000 discount offer on all variants of Playstation 5 (review). This will be part of their promotional offers, and will start on April 1.

This limited period offer entails one will be able to get their hands on the standard model of the PS5 console at Rs. ₹49,990. The digital edition would be available at Rs. 39,990. Sony in it's statement said, "PlayStation India has announced a special summer promotional offer wherein customers can avail INR 5000/-* off on purchase of all variants of the PS5 console."

This pricing is what Sony had launched their two PS5 models at originally in 2020, but had hiked prices later on. This is the first time a discount on these have been announced, since the launch of these, around two years ago. Post hike, the prices stood at the digital edition costing Rs. 44,990, while the standard version cost Rs. 54,990. With their new restock beginning April, the models are set to see a hefty discount.

Rishi Alwani, notable tipster, who broke the story additionally revealed the fresh price of the PS5 God of War Ragnarok bundle will be ₹54,990, a discounted version which is presently priced at Rs. 59,990.

This Rs. 5000 discount will be available on their usual sales on both offline and online store fronts, which include Flipkart, Amazon, Chroma, Reliance Digital among others.

The news of the discount offer is sure to delight gaming fans, as since the launch of PS5 in India, Sony has struggled to keep up supplies for the huge demand for them. Alwani's newsletter also pointed to the fact that Sony managed to sell 100,000 devices in India in 2021. This move is expected to ramp up sales further. Sony PS5: What's New?

The Sony Playstation 5 succeeds the previous PlayStation 4 Pro, building on the prowess with an AMD Zen 2 processor and RDNA2 graphics. It is offered in two variants - A digital edition that does not include a disc drive, and a variant with a Blu Ray drive. The console is capable of 4K 60 FPS gameplay and also supports ray tracing. Included with the PS5 are new Dual Shock controllers with intuitive haptic feedback.
