Popular Chinese consumer electronics company Xiaomi has now introduced a new TV in it's Mi TV 4A series that was launched in 2017. As such, the company has now added a new the 50-inch Mi TV and this is the 6th addition to the lineup. The TV has been launched in China and as of now, it is still unclear if the new television set will be launched in other markets, including India or not.

The new 50-inch Xiaomi Mi TV 4A will come with a price tag of CNY 2,399 (roughly Rs. 23,811). Pre-order registration is said to begin on January 19 and the sale will commence from January 23. Xiaomi is also said to be offering a CNY 100 (roughly Rs. 1,000) discount as part of the introductory sale.

Frameless Design and Dolby Atmos Audio

The 50-inch Xiaomi Mi TV 4A comes with a 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution display with 60HZ refresh rate and support for HDR10+ HLG. The Mi TV 4A series has a frameless design and the company has stated that the display provides users an extended visual experience. Mi TV 4a is astonishingly slim, measures a mere 4.98mm at its thinnest point.

As for the audio aspects, Xiaomi Mi TV 4A comes with integrated Mi TV Bar with 10 speakers, 2 wireless rear satellite speakers, and a subwoofer. The model supports Dolby Atmos audio technology with 2 up-firing speakers for what the company claims can offer "an immersive 3D sound experience."

Under the Hood

The Mi TV 4A 50-inch is powered by a 64-bit Amlogic L962 quad-core processor which is paired with 2GB RAM. The TV offers internal storage of 8GB. The new Xiaomi TV also features "Patch Wall", a UI layer on top of the Android OS that's based on deep learning AI technology. It enables curation of content based on recommendations.

Connectivity Options and Multi-purpose Mi Remote Control

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5 GHz dual-band Wi-Fi), Bluetooth 4.2, Dolby, and DTS Audio. The Mi TV 4A also sports a blue light-reducing mode to reduce eye strain problem. The 50-inch Mi TV 4A has 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, AV input, an ethernet port, and an S/PDIF audio output port.

The TV also comes with a multi-purpose Mi Remote Control, which also has infrared in addition to Bluetooth to work with most appliances such as setup box. It has Mi Touch that replaces traditional navigation buttons so you can use gestures to control your TV. The new Mi Bluetooth remote also has speech recognition that uses Sogou ASR speech recognition technology that promises 97 percent accuracy.

Xiaomi Mi TV 4 television lineup now consists of TVs with sizes 65-inch, 55-inch, 49-inch, 32-inch display. Xiaomi also has a Mi TV 4, which is an upgrade to the Mi TV 4A series.
