Xiaomi Unveils Mi TV 5 Lineup With QLED Panels
Xiaomi Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro lineup launched in China today. The Mi TV 5 series are available in three size variants and will feature QLED panels. The Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro share many similar features. But the major difference is the Quantum Dot technology found on the Mi TV 5 Pro series.
Xiaomi Mi TV 5 Series Launch Price
The Xiaomi Mi TV 5 Pro is priced CNY 3,699 (roughly Rs. 37,200) for the 55-inch model. The 65-inch and the 75-inch variants are priced CNY 4,999 and CNY 9,999 (around Rs. 50,300 and Rs. 100,500), respectively. The Xiaomi Mi TV 5 is priced at CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs. 30,200) for the 55-inch model. The other two models will retail at CNY 3,999 and CNY 7,999 (roughly Rs. 40,200 and Rs. 80,400), respectively.
The Xiaomi Mi TV 5 and the Mi TV 5 Pro series featuring the 55-inch and the 65-inch will kickstart sale on November 11 in China. Pre-bookings for the new smart TVs will open later today, Xiaomi said. However, there was no word about the sale outside China.
The Xiaomi Mi TV 5 series features an aluminum chassis, which are just 5.9mm thick in a crew-less design. In comparison, the bezels of the Mi TV 5 series are 47.1 percent thinner than the Mi TV 4 series. There is Amlogic T972 SoC, PatchWall user interface, and support 8K video playback in the new TVs. The Xiaomi Mi TV 5 series will have support for Xiaomi's voice assistant.
Mi TV 5 Pro, Mi TV 5 Differences
Going into further details, the Mi TV 5 Pro features a 4K OLED display with Quantum Dot technology. This can achieve up to 108 percent NTSC color gamut and supports MEMC technology and HDR10+. On the other hand, the Mi TV 5 features a 4K screen that can achieve up to 85 percent NTSC color gamut. However, the Mi TV 5 series exclude support for MEMC and HDR10+.
Another difference is with the RAM and onboard storage. The Mi TV 5 packs 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage. The Mi TV 5 Pro comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.
