Intex 2.0 Channel DJ Speakers Review: Another solid audio product from Intex at sensible price-point

Design and Setup

The new DJ speakers from Intex are far from being a subtle looking home music system and might fail to appeal you at first look. The DJ speakers come in Black-Red colour theme and as per Intex, have wooden chambers that amplify the sound output and ensure noise free experience. The front of the speakers, which I believe is made up of high quality plastic, has been given a Red coloured mesh on the main woofer. It seems that the Intex's design team has just overdone it to give these speakers a vibrant look.

Nevertheless, the individual speaker units can easily fit under a table or a cabinet and have a net weight of 18 Kgs. The LED lights are placed just beneath the main woofers and the primary unit also features a small screen that displays the source, volume levels and other important indications. And while you can control the speakers from the remote control, the primary unit also has buttons and knobs on front and right side respectively.

The setup is quite easy. Connect the secondary speaker unit to primary unit via bundled cable and the primary unit to main power source and you are good to go.

Connectivity and Features

To provide a seamless audio delivery, Intex has once again provided all the required connectivity features with the new DJ speakers. The music system comes equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, USB port, AUX input and SD card slot. You also have the option to tune in to your favorite radio station with the built-in FM tuner. Besides, the speakers are also compatible with DVD/PC/LCD TV. In short, you will find all readily used connectivity options with the company's new DJ speakers.

I mostly streamed audio by connecting my phones with the music system. The speakers also worked flawlessly with Samsung Frame smart TV and Windows laptops.

LED Floor Lighting and Cordless MIC to get the party started

Intex has also added the LED floor lighting feature that we saw in company's 2017 tower speakers. The new DJ speakers also get Remote operated RGB DJ lights to create a party setup. Both the speaker units have two circular dials with built-in LED lights that work in sync with the music beats.

Notably, the new DJ speakers also borrow the Karaoke feature from the last year's tower speakers. There's an upgraded cordless Mic in the package with a range of up to 10 meters to get started with the house party sessions. The Mic has a small screen that displays frequency. The Mic's volume and echo levels can be controlled via a rotary knob to attain a desired audio output. The speaker unit also have two jacks if you are using the Mic in the wired mode.

Audio Performance

I have mentioned in my review of Intex's Tower speakers and I say it again, Intex is doing a far better job in audio category than its mobility division. The company's music systems fit in common man's budget and offer appreciable audio performance. Having said that, the 14K price tag DJ speakers produce powerful audio that makes them perfect for house parties and family gatherings.

The DJ speakers have 60W+60W audio output that produce a loud and powerful audio. Based on three- driver speaker system, the speakers were more than enough to fill a 20x12 feet room. The 8-inch woofers combined with class D amplifier produce remarkable bass output that will set the floor rolling. The audio delivery is full of thumping bass and the speakers also do justice with the vocal centric tracks. The DJ speakers can also touch high notes easily; however mild distortion was noticeable in some audio tracks at peak volume. Nevertheless, the overall sound output at this price-point is quite commendable.

The primary speaker unit features a small display that shows the source and when combined with the remote controller, can be used to tweak Bass and Treble value as per your liking. Moreover, the remote can also be used to control the LED light effects.

Conclusion

The new range of Intex's audio products offers a good balance of audio performance and features. The DJ speakers are designed to impress the mid segment buyers, who are looking for powerful sound output in budget price segment. The design might not appeal you; but the audio performance and the range of connectivity features will surely please audiophiles.

Overall, Intex has one again delivered a solid home music system at a sensible price-point. Intex's new range of DJ speakers will be available through the company's vast distribution network across India.
