SoundBot SB571 Pro speaker review: A decent offering for the audiophiles
Every occasion deserves a tune. Be it good or bad, partying or celebrating a birthday, a song is something that's best heard. That is why SoundBot, a company that is known for making devices for the audiophiles wants us to enjoy an enhanced overall experience with its newly launched Bluetooth speaker SB571 Pro for the Indian market.
- good battery backup
- compact and catchy design
- speakerphone functionality
- pairing is bit shaky
- distortion at maximum volume
The speakers use the QUADIO technology for the surround sound and offer a combination of two speakers which can work simultaneously through Bluetooth connectivity. The device comes at a price of Rs 6,990 and ships only in Black color. It is available for purchase via online stores across India. But is the SoundBot SB571 Pro something you would want as your primary speaker? Let's find out.
Design
The SoundBot SB571 Pro definitely has a striking look and has this prism like patterns that might remind you of the Jabra Jawbone wireless Bluetooth headset. It is surely an eye-catching device. It's made out of aluminum and soft touch rubber runs along the sides giving it an interesting shape.
The right side is where all the ports are housed on top of a shiny glossy material. It gives the users access to the volume, pairing controls and play/pause alongside the power button, microphone, LED light, AUX input and a micro USB for power.
Honestly, the placement of the keys could have been better. It could have been placed on the top as seen on JBL flip series, for easier tapping. This design also forces you to pick it up and toggle between the keys.
Pairing
So connecting the SoundBot speakers to a smartphone is relatively simple. You just have to turn it on and press the pairing key, find the speaker on the phone and it's done. In order to pair the secondary speaker after the primary speaker is paired with your phone, you have to hold the volume down button and pairing key simultaneously. It an easy process and we didn't face any hassle while pairing the speakers.
Sound quality
I must say, the speakers churn out good audio and enough to handle a house party. The speakers deliver a powerful bass for its size. In our test, we played few bass intensive tracks and were pleased to find out the rich bass output.
Although the sound quality is decent, the dual speaker connectivity seems to be a bit shaky and we noticed that the audio coming out from the secondary speaker is inconsistent. If you hear it closely you will notice the speaker taking a pause after 30 seconds of continuous playback.
Output
Both speakers offer a 10W output and have dual 5W HD acoustic loudspeakers with two 50mm drivers for bass. The speaker also comes with a water and shock resistant case. The speakers offer a remote distance playing of up to 25 feet. The fire up the speakers, a 2500mAh battery reservoir has been crammed in. We managed to play our favorite tunes on the speaker for at least 8-9 hours. On full volume, the battery backup could drop down to 6-7 hours.
Verdict
Overall the SB571 Pro qualifies as a decent offering from SoundBot. It has all the essentials that are required to make them a good value for money. The speakers are also good for phone calls but only when indoors, as opposed to outdoors or in loud environments because it does tend to pick up the background sound as well.
In terms of bass, it's not the best compared to other speakers out there, but they do sound pretty good for their price and doesn't face any distortion issues. Priced at Rs 6,990, the SoundBot SB571 Pro is good value for money, it offers good sound quality, a lightweight design, long battery life, and speakerphone capability.
