Earlier this month, Google started rolling out live location sharing in the Messages app. This means you no longer need any other platform to share your real-time location.

Powered by Find Hub, this allows users to see each other's live location on a map view right inside the chat. You can choose how long to share your location and stop sharing it anytime. Now, let's check how to share your real-time location in Google Messages.

How to Share Real-time Location in Google Messages

Step 1: Go to the Google Messages app on your smartphone.
Step 2: Open the conversation with the person you want to share your live location with.
Step 3: Tap the 'Plus' icon and then click on the Real-time location' option.
Step 4: Now, select the time duration from the available options: 1 hour, Today only, or Custom duration (this allows you to set a specific time).
Step 5: Tap the Send button to start sharing your real-time location in the chat.

Similarly, you can stop sharing your location. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Open the Google Messages app.
Step 2: Open the conversation with the person or group you've shared your location with.
Step 3: At the top of the chat, you will see "Location sharing until (specific time)".
Step 4: Tap on it and select Stop sharing.
Step 5: You will then see a confirmation that location sharing has ended.

So, whether you're meeting up at a concert or getting picked up at the airport, Google Messages will allow you to share your location for as long as you want, with the flexibility to stop sharing at any time – entirely within your conversation.
